an evening in your name
Love does not happen by asking someone, and when it happens, it becomes the most beautiful feeling of life. This is the story of Gunjan and Aditya, two strangers, who were tied by the threads of fate in such a way that their story became "Tumhare Naam Ki Shaam".
First meeting
Gunjan was a lively girl, who was very fond of music and books. She worked in an event management company in Delhi and was always striving to fulfill her dreams. On the other hand, Aditya was a software engineer, who was very passionate about his career.
They first met at a wedding, where Gunjan had come as an event manager and Aditya as the groom's friend. At first glance, both of them did not pay much attention to each other, but when Aditya saw Gunjan handling everything on the stage, he could not help but be impressed by her efficiency. Gunjan had managed the entire wedding program in such a way that it never felt like any arrangement was wrong. The timing of everything was perfect. Gunjan's confidence was reflected in her work.
Gunjan's laughter, confidence in her words and her simplicity was something that stirred Aditya's heart. Aditya had focused only on his studies in his life. Aditya had never paid attention to anything else except his company and his work. Words like love, affection had no importance in his life.
Aditya was staring at Gunjan. His heart had started beating for Gunjan, which he was feeling at this time. Gunjan's eyes had met Aditya's eyes a couple of times.
Gunjan was also feeling something now. The atmosphere of a wedding is romantic anyway and in such an atmosphere when a desire for someone is born then the heart does not accept it. As soon as Gunjan disappeared from his sight for some time, Aditya's impatience increased. He was looking all around so that he could see Gunjan somewhere.
In this impatience, he got up from his chair and started looking for Gunjan to get a glimpse of her. Finally he saw her in the confectionery area. Aditya went straight towards her.
Do you need anything sir? Gunjan asked. No sir, I am Aditya, can you call me by my name. By the way, can I have a glass of water? Yes, of course. Take this. Saying this, she handed over the glass of water to Aditya. When Aditya took the glass in his hand, Gunjan's fingers also touched it. Both of them felt an electric shock. Gunjan's eyes fell down in shame at that time. Aditya finished the glass of water in one breath and thanked her and then asked if I can know your name. My name is Gunjan. Then Gunjan remembered some work and she left from there.
So this is Gunjan who is making my heart beat faster with her resonance. He came back and sat next to his friend.
The wedding was completed very well but the turmoil in Aditya's mind had not calmed down. He wanted to become friends with Gunjan somehow but it was not possible. He came to his home with an incomplete feeling.
Aditya's mind had started to remain restless. He had lost sleep at night. Today a week had passed since this incident. Now he also wanted to consider it as a sweet memory and bury it in his heart.
He had come to Hotel Neel Kamal today for a meeting with an office client. The meeting was about to end when he started feeling restless. Aditya looked around and saw Gunjan on another table. She too had probably come here for a meeting with someone. Today I have to talk to Gunjan. He quickly finished his meeting and moved towards Gunjan. Gunjan was also about to leave.
Hello Gunjan. Have you also come here for a meeting? We have met here after our marriage. Can you have a cup of coffee with me for a while? Yes, come Aditya, sit. By the way, I was just about to leave.
During the cup of coffee, Aditya told her about himself and also got to know a few things about her.
Gunjan, can I be your friend? Aditya said in the middle of the conversation. But Aditya, I am a professional businessman. This friendship is not in my nature.
To tell you the truth Gunjan, I have been impressed by you in the first meeting itself. Your efficiency and behavior have attracted me. Ever since I met you, my heart is very restless. I have started loving you. And I want to marry you. Aditya put all his suppressed desires in front of Gunjan.
Gunjan's eyes were fixed on Aditya's face. She was staring at him. She could see a seriousness on Aditya's face. After a while she said that Aditya, I do not know words like love. I only think it is important to focus on my work. I am not in love with you yet.
It doesn't matter, Gunjan. Love, Mohabbat is not forced. Now that I have fallen in love, I will continue to love you. If there is truth in my love, then one day you will realize it. But now we can become friends.
After thinking for a while, she said, okay. There is no harm in friendship. Let's go now. I also have some work now. Okay, but now that we have become friends, give me your phone number. On Aditya's request, Gunjan gave him her number. Both of them left the hotel and went to their respective offices.
Aditya was very happy today. Whatever may be the case, today he had told his heart's feelings to Gunjan. However, he did not get the result he wanted.
Now he could remain in touch through phone. He was satisfied thinking this.
Both of them were in constant contact through phone now. They started talking often. They would sometimes talk on chat and laugh and joke. Aditya started liking Gunjan's talks very much, and Gunjan was also impressed by Aditya's maturity and seriousness.
One day, Aditya asked Gunjan to meet him at a cafe. She was nervous as she had realized that her feelings for Aditya were now moving beyond friendship.
Their meeting at the cafe was special. They talked for hours—about dreams, life and relationships. Aditya realized for the first time that life is not just about coding and career, but also about moments spent with someone special. Gunjan was a little different today. She seemed a little different from her last time. Aditya had full faith in his love that a day would come when Gunjan would confess her love to him. They had grown close enough to meet up often.
One evening, Aditya and Gunjan sat together watching the sunset. That evening was like no other—there was a strange sweetness in the air, and unspoken words in their hearts.
Aditya gathered courage and said again,
"Gunjan, these few months spent with you have been the most beautiful moments of my life. I feel incomplete without you now. Will you be a part of my life?"
A light smile came on Gunjan's lips. She said softly,
"This evening in your name, will be mine forever, Aditya!"
And that day, two hearts promised to adopt each other.
But the path of love is not always easy. When Gunjan told her parents about Aditya, they did not agree. They were afraid that Aditya is from another city, and his social gathering is also different. He belongs to another caste.
They flatly refused Gunjan for this marriage. We do not want you to marry Aditya. There are many other promising and good boys in our society. You can choose any of them.
Papa, I love Aditya. I understand him. I will be happy only if I stay with him. Gunjan's parents were not affected by this. You should meet Aditya once, Papa. She tried again to convince her father to accept this relationship. But Gunjan's father had made up his mind that he would not let her marry Aditya.
Gunjan was very sad, but Aditya encouraged her. He said,
"If our love is true, we will convince our families."
Aditya decided to meet Gunjan's parents. With his honesty and true intentions, he convinced them that he would always keep Gunjan happy.
Slowly, with time, Gunjan's parents realized that their daughter's happiness lies in Aditya. They approved the relationship.
After a few months, Gunjan and Aditya got married. The evening when they promised to accept each other became the most beautiful "Tumhaare Naam Ki Shaam"(an evening in your name ) their lives.
