5 Best Cycling Arm Warmers

By Epic Bikers Published about a year ago 4 min read

Arm warmers are thin sleeves to be used when you wear short-sleeve cycling jerseys and gilets during conditions that are not too cold.

According to Epic Bikers opinion, it is one of the most useful items that belong to cycle wear that any cyclist should own.

It provides an option to unzip if a rider warms up during cycling or to wear them if the temperature drops or cycling is interrupted by bad weather.

Some arm warmers can even be worn in warmer climates since they have added protection against UV light.

Different arm warmers are designed in different aspects, some of them, are mainly for the heat function while others may have functions waterproofing to avoid dampness from rain.

Affordable arm warmers for cycling you are going to have quite a task in finding the best one. Epic Bikers recommended the best way to choose the right pair of arm warmers is to first find out which features are most sensitive to you as a person.

1. Pro Seamless arm warmers Castelli

These Castelli Pro Seamless arm warmers are then very much a lightweight offering as can be measured. In the test, the size S/M of our product was as light as 34g.

The upper cuff is thickened and rubberized while at the same time, it is not isn’t to tight and it does grasp the fabric well. The material is positively warm, and the water-repellent finish copes with its function in damp conditions.

Cuffs fit well with both arm and knee warmers. The former was right to the inch. It was good to keep me warm during chilly early morning test rides and light enough during warm days.

It never got warm enough on my rides to desire to lower them however the elasticated grippers would guarantee that wouldn’t be possible. They are also fairly small and could be removed from the game and carried in a jersey pocket.

2. Castelli Nano Flex 3G arm warmer

The NanoFlex 3G version is the most recent invention, and as good as, Waterproof and Breathy. The Nano Flex arm warmers are very stretchy to allow for sufficient flex at the elbow and, while a bit expensive compared to some other arm warmers, these are easily justified for those who wish to invest in sleeves that meet nearly every requirement out there.

There is also compliance with the NanoFlex 3G version with the arm and knee warmers. The latter seems too tight to cover much, but they offer a lot of growth as they offer sufficient tip insurance.

It was good in the early morning test rides especially during the cold season because of the insulation and easy to use during warm weather because of their compactness. It’s also very light that it can be easily concealed inside the jersey pocket and be carried anywhere.

They look stylish too; around the bottom of each product is a Castelli logo. I was satisfied with one aspect, color – I selected blue.

3. Rapha Merino Arm Warmers

Guaranteed, Rapha has some nice arm warmers that are made of Merino wool but contain a certain amount of lycra for added stretch and longevity.

They are ‘big road’ enough for urban cruising and perform perfectly matched when worn with any short-sleeve Rapha top.

This made them lovely to wear merino feels very soft and smooth against the skin and on the body in general. They’re also the only ones that aren’t shaped with the elbows in view.

They are small enough that they can be carried around your jersey pocket and do not have any added extra weight.

They, however, were not very tight I would only feel them when I thought about it, and they were very useful on a very windy and wet nasty ride.

4. Sportful Fiandre arm warmers

The Sportful Fiandre arm warmers had perfectly comfortable, wide elastic bands at the bottom and the top. This makes them comfortable, and it also keeps them in place well, I might add.

In case you want to face the early morning cold even in summer, Fiandre sportful arm warmers enable you to cool your morning.

It has a light coat and feel. They are very comfortable as they are very airy, especially when the day got hot they were very suitable for me.

They are made from a waterproof material and they offer sufficient warmth at the same time, and the garment is also adequately ventilated.

5. Endura FS260-Pro Thermo arm warmers

The Endura FS260-Pro Thermo arm warmers are slightly thicker, utilizing the ‘Thermo Roubaix’ fabric that has been treated with PFC-free water-repellent DWR treatment.

The Pro SLs are very warm and also again offer very good wind protection. This silky warm and high-strength thermal fabric will keep you warm in the cold climate.

If these arm warmers tickle your fancy then be aware that Endura has used some fancy pants sizing and they appear to be a pinch on the small side, even on the skin.

Some minor confusion about the sizing however these arm warmers work quite well if you are willing to pay a lot less than for premium ones.

They would be best placed for those who only want the shoe for its weather-proofing qualities (although they should also note that their hands are quite small).

Conclusion: Best Cycling Arm Warmers

Thus cycling arm warmers are highly functional, convenient accessory pieces, able to respond to weather variability. There are options from Castelli such as the Pro Seamless as well as the Nano Flex 3G which has lightweight water repellant and breathable designs depending on the particular weather type.

Rapha Merino arm warmers feature light comfort, perfect if you anticipate a windy ride whereas Sportful Fiandre sits in between warmth and breathability. Thermo arm warmers of the Endura FS260-Pro are thicker, thus providing great protection, particularly in colder weather.

Both options are designed for a certain purpose, which is why choosing a pair intended for cycling is going to be very easy.
