The Village King

In a small village located between green hills lived a king by the name Arjun. Different from every king who ever lived in makou palaces, Arjun lived in a simple wooden house with his people. He was beloved by the villagers, for he governed wisely and with compassion.

Arjun’s day started with checking on the village. He would plow fields with the farmers, hear disputes under the old banyan tree, and teach kids about honesty and courage. He was a king, he wore only the common people clothes in cotton, he took food in common with his people.

Then one day, a jealous neighboring kingdom declared war to steal the village’s prosperity. When fighting was necessary Arjun was a supreme warrior, the kind of guy you wanted to have on your side in battle. He mustered his villagers, not through fear but with hope. They built defenses and trained relentlessly. When the battle arrived, they worked closely together and used their wits to win.

The neighboring widow king, impressed by Arjun’s leadership, offered peace and alliance. Arjun’s village prospered even more, becoming an example of unity.

Years passed, and King Arjun continued to lead in humility, a balm to his soul and a reminder of the fact that royalty was not measured in wealth but in the hearts of one’s people.
