I highly recommend you read this book! It makes you see things differently!

This small book has a total of 138 pages, but the lessons you find within will change the way you see the aspect of life. Just apply these four techniques into your life and you will see major changes that you weren’t expecting!

The first agreement: Be Impeccable with Your Word

This Don Miguel says is the most difficult agreement but also the most important. What does that mean? To be impeccable with your word? It means to use your words with caution and to take responsibility for your actions but not judging or blaming yourself. Your words hold power. What you say can and will be. The use of your tongue is powerful, thats why it’s important to be careful what you use your words for and only use it for positive things. Speak positive things into existence. You can manifest anything you want. You will get that job. You will get that apartment. You will buy that new car off the lot. Use your word to share love. God, the Universe, he hears you and will make all great things happen. But it can also be misused, you must have good intentions with your words. Misuse of your word is a form if black magic and it’s the worst form, gossip. Starting to be impeccable with your words can start with yourself! Tell yourself those positive affirmations. Tell yourself you love yourself and that you are many wonderful things. The. share those words with someone else and make them see themselves differently as well. You will see a change in your life almost immediately.

“The word is like a seed, and the human mind is fertile.” ~ Don Miguel Ruiz

The second agreement: Don’t Take Anything Personally

You are not responsible for other people’s actions, only yourself. What other people say or do is not on you or about you and you must always remember that. If someone says sometching to hurt you, it’s not about you… it’s about them. They are reflecting on you just because they choose to. Everyone lives in their own world where they are the main character. Everyone’s world is different than yours. When you take something personally, you make the assumption that they know what you have going on in your world and you try to impose your world into their world. What others do or say have nothing to do with you. You can’t control anyone. No one can control you either. People will have different belief systems and nothing they think is about you, but them. Even the negative things you tell yourself aren’t true. You don’t have to take that voice in your head personally. There is a big amount of freedom that comes with not taking things personally. When someone says something and you don’t react, you just don’t care about it, you don’t take it personally, that person will see you differently. You show a mature and different side of yourself. It’s also good to remember that karma is real. Don’t react, don’t take it personal… Let God handle it.

”You don’t need to trust others as much as you need to trust yourself to make the right choices.” ~ Don Miguel Ruiz

The third agreement: Don’t Make Assumptions

Everyone has the tendency to make assumptions, the problem with that is that we believe that what we assume is the truth and we will swear by it. One quote to explain, “We make an assumption, we misunderstand, we take it personally, and we end up creating a whole big drama for nothing.” It’s better to ask questions than to make assumptions. When we communicate with one another, life is easier. We also make assumptions that people see life as we do when that’s not true. We assume they think like us, and judge in ways we do.. then you assume they judge and think certain ways about us because that’s how we think about ourselves. Never assume, instead communicate, ask questions. Say what’s on your mind and don’t be scared to ask for clarity on something. When we communicate with each other we avoid misunderstandings and we are able to understand one another from each others point of view. Lots of problems would be solved if there was just a clear understanding and communication taking place.

The fourth agreement: Always do your best

The first three agreements will only work for you if you do your best. Always do your best. Pretty simple to understand, but it’s basically the foundation to all these agreements. Keep in mind that not everyday is going to be the same, doing your best can look different everyday. Just always show up for yourself. You are put on this earth to be happy and to love yourself and others! When you do your best, you’re productive and you’re good to yourself. Don’t only do your best expecting a reward. “Rewards will come but you are not attached to the reward.“ Learn to accept yourself. Learn from your mistakes and don’t be so hard on yourself when you do mess up. Take action. “Without action upon an idea, there will be no manifestation, no results, no reward.“ If you want something, go ahead and take action towards it. Last thing, don’t forget to live your life! Be you YOU are. The best way of saying ’I love you God‘ is by living your life, doing your best and always being full of love. Don’t be concerned about the future, focus on the present. Live one day at a time. Take breaks and live in the moment.

Live by these four agreements and see how your life changes in the best ways! Starting off will be hard and you will have slip ups here and there but that’s okay! It’s about learning and doing your best! I recommend to read this book to really be able to get deeper into the agreements. Don Miguel has a lot of knowledge and this small book is completely full of it.

”When you honor these four agreements together, there is no way that you will live in hell.” ~ Don Miguel Ruiz
