Someone said if you don’t feed your mind, you will never be able to afford to feed your body, and I felt that.

Are you as eager for information as you are for food?

Are you as thirsty for great knowledge as you are for water?

When they stated knowledge is power, they were not kidding. Yet most of us are going through life uneducated, and hence, helpless.

Why would someone in the 21st century lack education when there’s information readily accessible everywhere?

There are 2 basic reasons why we stay uneducated.

The new era of widely accessible knowledge has produced 2 separate problems:

1.We take information for granted. I read significantly more books in secondary school when I didn’t have access to purchasing them than I do now when I have the means and leisure to indulge. I used to be so eager for any fiction that even if I spotted only the dog-eared brown edge of a paperback, my typically reclusive self would gather the bravery to chat to the stranger reading the book. I hungered for it. I didn’t take them for granted. I would simply notice a specific dusty yellow tint coming out from a suitcase, and my brain would immediately go ring! That’s a book. The shortage of books made me treasure them. So, you can understand why individuals today don’t have information while having so much access. We had much too many alternatives and began to take it for granted.

2.Disinformation and diversionsthe proliferation of informationmeans that there is a lot of good information out there and a lot of bad information too. There’s so much to sort through to obtain relevant facts. We are surrounded and saturated with misleading or useless information.

I ask again, are you yearning for knowledge?

You don’t know what you don’t know, and that’s the scariest aspect about a lack of information. It’s not simply the fact that you lack information, but that, the bulk of the time, you lack the awareness that you lack knowledge.

If you have any objectives for this year, I don’t know how far you’ve advanced or what stumbling obstacles you have met, but I will urge you to do 1 thing.

Read.

Saturate yourself in facts about what you desire. Read about it, listen to it, and see videos about it.

Yes, you will stumble on a lot of irrelevant stuff. You can stumble on a lot of contradicting facts, but the more you immerse yourself in what you want to accomplish, the less powerless you will feel. And over time, you’re able to start stitching things together, able to start constructing a roadmap of activities you need to do next.

If you want to lose weight, I need you to listen to podcasts about it, watch YouTube videos about it, and read articles on weight loss and diet and exercise. You need to become a mini-professor in your selected aim.

If you want to earn money, submerge yourself in financial literature and chase after information on the company you’re interested in.

If you struggle with discipline, there are so many books describing the psychology of discipline and how others have gained the talent of discipline.

Knowledge is power.

Don’t remain helpless when you’re 1 book, 1 article, and 1 podcast away from finally breaking the code to what you desire.
