Talking with Psychopaths: A Journey Into The Evil Mind book review
By Christopher Berry-DEE

Recently I have read the book " Talking with Psychopaths" by true crime author Christopher Berry-DEE. ( It contains some spoilers to explain the content better.)
WHOEVER FIGHTS MONSTERS SHOULD SEE TO IT THAT IN THE PROCESS HE DOES NOT BECOME A MONSTER. ( Friedrich Nietzsche's)
About the author- Born in 1948 in Winchester, Hampshire, UK. He is a famous writer, criminologist, and has interviewed and interrogated about 30 most dangerous killers, mass murderers, psychopaths, like Ted Bundy, Joanne Dennehy. He is been part of T.V shows " The serial Killers". His notable books include- Monsters , Dad help me please, Talking with serial killers etc.
Why you should read:
1) The technical knowledge provided by author related to psychopathy is amazing. I was amazed to read some of the logical and scientific explanations behind some abnormal behavior.
2) Professor Robert Hare Psychopathy check-list given in the book can help readers spot evil people around them.( Not particularly psychopaths.)
3) You can see extracts of letters given to author by the criminals.
4) Case studies are the best, infact some of them will boil your blood while reading. Case of Michael Bruce Ross and Shawcross will force you to think how dark these people are who commit such horrible crimes.
5) Book also contain references of movies, name of some other books , ultimately you will get to know all killers are different, they don't think same.
Things you should consider before buying:
1) If you think you are going to read how a psychopath killed his victim, his methodology , insights of that event and detailed execution of his crime then you are wrong. ( Except in case of Michael Bruce Ross) . And if you were looking for these only , I guess author has saved us from some of the psychopaths reading this and copying ...............................
2) Author builds narration in such a way that while reading you will find something really horrible , something that would blow your mind, but at the end either you already knew it or already seen in a lot of movies.
3) I don't know why author focused a lot on court hearing, police, details of trial, dates of events. I mean you are selling it to general public , we hope for a story, how that happened, why it happened, why did he do that, what was on his mind while murdering etc , book particularly doesn't reveal those secrets.
4) Book sometimes feel like perfect for court and police who have to keep record of what things happened when and match it with the case files and official documents.
I liked the book , although I expected a lot from it . Those who are interested in dark psychology, want to understand abnormal human behavior must read this book.
No book is waste of time . Every book in this word teach us something.
Thank You !
