Praise for Sage (Baba)

Help the Humanity

By Afzal OthiPublished 12 months ago 15 min read

Today I will explain to you the definition of a Sage. A sage or Babaji is a person who gives ease to another human being. This is his definition. It must have come to your mind that Baba is a heavy beggar. He wears a basket-colored shirt, has a garland of beads around his neck, holds a whip to punish his people in his hand, and has red saree in his eyes. That was all. Wearing a three-piece suit, the wearer has a high-class red tie with a gold pin in the middle. There is no gender restriction in this. Men, women, children, old people, middle-aged people. All these people are sages in their time and every time they pass by, they do the work of giving ease to some people momentarily and make something permanent. This is thanks to Shiva and we respect them very much. Babas have come in my life and I used to wonder from which province and how they know the art of giving ease to people. This is my regret that I have reached this age. I have not been able to give or receive anything from anyone on my behalf and I am afraid that no one will ever expect him to. When we were in the third year, Kirpal Singh was our companion. We used to call him Karpala Singh. The poor fellow was like a Punjabi fog singer. He wears a yellow dress and comes in a very crooked manner. One day, we were going to the Anarkali Bazaar in Lahore. There was a beggar in front of the stationery shops. He said, "Baba, give me something in the name of Allah." I did not pay any attention to him. Then he addressed Kirpal Singh and said, "O Baba, give me something." He said, "Baji, at this time, I do not have anything, and he really did not have it." The beggar, instead of taking anything from him, took him in his arms and kissed him passionately. He said, "You have given me the treasures of the whole world. You have given me everything. You have everything. You have called me Bhaji." I was touched by this word. No one has called me elder brother till today. Now, After that, there was no need for anything. In those days, all the hostel boys used to secretly go to the cinema. There was a theater outside Lahore Bati. I, Arunda, Ghulam Mustafa, Karpal, all of us went to the cinema. We returned at night. It was very cold in Anarkali. It was around Christmas time. The second one was very cold. The second one was very cold. In this world of cold, there was a fog. There was a crack on the board. One day, as happens, a painful sound was heard.

An old woman was crying and making a noise. She was saying over and over again, "Hey, my daughter-in-law, if God takes you away, you will die. She threw me out." That daughter-in-law and her son threw her out of the house and left her in the corner of a shop. That shop belonged to Jagat Singh, who later became very famous. She was a relative of his. His beloved was Amritsar Pritam, who became a very good poet. She was thrown on her ear. She was lying there screaming. We all stood up and started a speech. Look how cruel society is, how cruel people are. This poor poor woman is being thrown out here in the cold. Her last hour is here. And her son is also so cruel. Look at her daughter-in-law. How cruel she was that they picked her up and threw her away. What a new method. There, Arvind gave a big speech that as long as the British rule over us and the country does not get sunlight, such poor people will continue to be in this condition. Then they said that the government should do something. Then they said that the orphanages, ashrams, and welfare houses are not doing anything. What should we do here? Then Kirpal Singh disappeared from there. We stayed behind. Or I don't know where he stayed. So we were giving speeches. He was standing next to this old woman and giving speeches. Our friend came on a bicycle, passing by, came outside on a bicycle. He was sweating, sweating, tired in the winter. He was breathing heavily. In front of the bed in his hostel room, there was an old blanket that his father used to give on a horse. He was a beedi from Sahiwal. He would not lay it down, but would sit on it and walk around. He would pull the smelly horse blanket from his bed and bring it on his bicycle and put it on the old woman. She kept praying for him. He did not know how to give a speech. He was unfamiliar with the art of speech.

Baba Nora used to say that it is the job of a human being to make others comfortable. If a friend of yours reaches the police station and he calls you from the police station and says, "I have reached the police station," then never ask him what happened, how did he arrive, ask him which police station he is in. This is the way to make things comfortable. And we had not learned this art. There was no such thing in the book in our course. I have a brother, my cousin, he is my age. He got angry with me a few days ago. He said, "What program have you started? The world is progressing. Time is moving forward. You are taking us to the back roads. When later we take the meaning of progress, we take the excuses and support of others. We only want to make our own life. They say, there is no need for any ethics or morality in this. Leave the human being. Now you should do something that is related to technology. Give him knowledge and tell him what it is. When he was talking to me, I was remembering my father's time. Here, there is a fair in every village. The annual cattle fair is very famous in our Pakistan. Mine is very high-class. Some people there wrote me a letter with great love, saying that we also have some right over you. If you ever come here, Ashfaq Sahib, I had heard that. It is very hot in Sibi and what should I do? I used to postpone going. The letter kept coming for about four years. Then I felt very ashamed and my conscience reproached me. What kind of trouble is this? You can't go? I said, I am ready. I made up my mind to go. So I went to Qadri Baba and asked for permission. We insisted that we were learning this ritual. Otherwise, who would ask for permission? I said, Sir, he, he, I want to go to Sibi. They said, "It is a great pleasure. It is a great pleasure. You must go." I said, "Yes, the people there have invited me." They said, "No, there is no need to ask. You must go." I said, "Yes, you have permission." They said, "Yes, of course. Yes, it is perfectly permissible. I am very happy." So I took permission from them and left. I had not yet reached the door of the camp. Outside, the sound of a jangling car rang out like the one they say. There was a fence built. They called me from there and called me again. They said, "Son, listen to me." When I returned, they told me, "You are going to Sibi." They said, "It is a great pleasure." The point is, don't just go there and give people your knowledge, give them love.

I said, "Sir, we don't even have love to give at home. Where can I give it? I only have knowledge." They said, "Don't give them knowledge. They have called me with love. If you have it, take it with you. But we teach them obvious knowledge. Keep a high, bright light. Don't tie up cattle. Breathe through your nose. Excel through your mouth. And so on. And this love. I said, "Yes, this is a very difficult task. How will I be able to do this? I went and tried, but I failed completely. Because giving knowledge and giving advice is very easy. And giving love is very difficult." So I was saying that there are chapters in which there is no specialization. If you are giving someone an easy life, then you are a chapter. If you are not giving an easy life, then you are of your own race. What do I talk about in these chapters? As I was saying just now, there is no specialization of gender. There is no age limit. This time, during the summer vacation, my little granddaughter said something strange and strange that I could not do. She took the school thermos and I made a very nice cold bottle and put ice in it and put it in the tree where our letter box is located and wrote a letter and pinned it with it. He wrote, Uncle Postman, you come to deliver letters in the summer, you ride a bicycle, it is very painful. I have made this bottle for you. Drink this. I will be very grateful to you. Yes, yes, in the afternoon we used to force the children to sleep. In the evening, when I woke up, I brought the thermos. I saw that letter. On it was a ballpoint pen that every car has in its special ear. It has a special style. It was written, "Dear daughter, thank you very much. I drank two glasses of Chakanvi and now my speed has become so fast that I can easily pass two houses with one pedal stroke. So, stay alive, be safe and may God bless you. Add two more spoons of sugar to whatever you make tomorrow. This is his love, isn't it? This is 25, little ladies and gentlemen. Hassan Baba He felt a connection with him in this way. I say that in our lives, in this burning environment, in this environment full of suffering, you must have often seen that no good comes from bureaucracy, from the offices of the government, people are very unhappy. By the grace of God, we have a department that distributes good and they are very happy with it. That is, the postal department, where you take your things with great ease and they stamp and give you a receipt. I pray that you believe me. I am telling the truth that the way people greet you while passing near a shrine, whenever I pass near a post office, even if I am going in a car, I definitely greet them that I could not serve you and you. Now you will be the ones who say, Sir, this money order was stolen. They have come in the newspaper. Such things are mentioned in general. I am talking about them.

They are very good. They are very good and they give you ease. You are your own. Take the parcel and say, "Babuji is sitting there." I said, "Sir, we don't even have love to give at home. Where can I give it? I only have knowledge." They said, "Don't give them knowledge. They have called me with love. If you have it, take it with you. But we teach them obvious knowledge. I am a person of great virtue, they are a person of great virtue and they give you ease.

When I came from the new province, I wanted to know what these camps were like. The first thing I noticed there was that we were sitting inside, eating, and then talking. When we came out, everyone's shoes were in a string and facing outwards. The man would take off his shoes, and they would lie high and low. This is a big arrangement in the camps. When I saw it, I thought it was a good deed to fix people's shoes. And because I was a little arrogant, I was proud that I had studied in the province and was a great Qawwali fan. Usually, I plucked up the courage and tried to fix the shoes. It was a difficult task, but I tried hard every day and saved my eyes and fixed three or four or five. When I did, my father came from above and held my hand and said, "No, no, my son, don't do that, don't do it at all, you don't do it." I said, "No, I was a little embarrassed. He picked me up. Everyone was watching. He stopped me. I was denied, but my nature was a big burden and I kept thinking what happened to me. I wanted to enter a good field. Yes, why did you do this to me? We were alone in the afternoon. I said, yes, let me ask you one thing because it is a big burden on my nature. Why did you do this? He said, that is right. The knowledge that is to be given to you is much better. I said, but he was doing a good job in his head. He said, it was not necessary for you to do this because such an act would have increased your arrogance because some people would see that Mr. Subhan Allah, Mr. Ashfaq Sahib is doing this work. I had to become a potter. You should see this. Our mind is not on that, it is not a matter of great distance. That is why we submitted this to these people. We are not going backwards at all. We are going much further.

We are becoming a little more advanced. We want to return to that stability and strength that was our distinguishing feature at one time. One of our professors was a very good psychology professor. My nephew used to study with him, so one day he said to me, "Mum, he takes our extra classes in the evening and 10 students sit with him and study. Mom can't give him money. Father is a bit short, so you should arrange something with the professor." Father said, "We can give him 500 rupees." So I went to the professor. In the evening, he was teaching in the old style sitting on the grass with great enthusiasm and dedication. So I insulted him. I said, "Professor, I want to talk to you." He said, "Okay, leave him alone." I said, "I have come to you with a request. Do you know me?" He said, "Yes, yes, I know you very well." I said, "I have a request to make to you. My sister is not very well-off. She will only be able to give you 500 rupees." He said, "I get money for teaching, Ashfaq sir." I said, "Other boys will give you more." He said, "No, no, I get it from the government. It's my salary." I said, "That's it." So, they are getting extra money in college, so you are teaching extra. They said, "No, no, it's all about the teacher's time. Whether he teaches in the morning or in the evening, the government gives me the money."

Who said that I take 500 rupees? You are embarrassing me. This is my duty and this is my love. People have come with great love. He was a professor who used to give ease and he used to teach other classes. I kept seeing him and going to greet him because he was also a Baba, just like my granddaughter is a Baba. I greet him. Dakan is a Baba. He is a star who really has people in him. But it seems a little shocking because MMPOs and sisters definitely go there. Jelly bandes are also included. Just like many times, a thug wears the uniform of an army major and goes to check the shop to see what you have and who is carrying a thousand rupees from his neck. So you should not say that whoever becomes a Major is a thug. Therefore, remove the rank from the Army by making him a Major. No, this is not a matter of imposters. Whoever is a Thak is a Thak and has his own style. It will remain the same. You have to see this now and here is a simple test that you can apply to yourself as well. At what level has it made mankind easier in some way or another? You must have seen in your childhood that the elders of your neighborhood, your village, your town or your city, when they were walking, they would remove a nail splinter or some such fallen object with their stick. We have never done this. It is unfortunate that a single man with his stick will remove this impurity. And I am sure that those who follow will come and go and meet us. Our negligence has been that we try to impart knowledge about it. That Baba ji who had said, "Don't sit down to impart knowledge, give them love. You need to give me love, otherwise knowledge will not penetrate." That professor who used to sit on the grass and raise boys, his knowledge continued because he had such a There was a drain that was of love and was slipping into the boys. It wouldn't happen without it. Ladies and gentlemen, today, a brief explanation of this has been given by Baba. I think many doubts will continue to disappear from your mind. If they don't, then there is nothing wrong with that. It is good to carry doubts with you because doubt is not against faith. It is a part of faith. Because doubts will arise in the mind of a believer who believes in Allah. There is nothing like that in him. But I am happy that I meet you every week and some things happen that I don't want to know for myself because this is part of you. May Allah grant you ease and grant you the honor of sharing ease. May Allah Hafiz.
