Our love lives on in a Parallel Universe.
Book Review of "Write me for You" by Tillie Cole

How lovely would it be to have the opportunity to step into a parallel universe? One that gives you the happy ending you wish for, instead of having to accept the fate of the real world? In "Write me for You", Tillie Cole gives us both perspectives, and both will have you in tears. I personally loved the way this book was written, and it has given me a lot of inspiration for my own book that I am working on. Enough of my rambling for a moment and let me give you the book description, and another one of my favorite quotes!
Book Description:
June Scott, seventeen, has always dreamed of writing the greatest love story, full of joy and beauty. However, after receiving a terminal diagnosis, she worries her love story will never begin.
Then, June meets Jesse Taylor, a football player, who is also a patient in her cancer treatment trial. Jesse lives every day as if it's his last—because it might be.
As their worlds collide, a love as powerful as it is fragile blossoms. With their time together slipping away, June is inspired to write their story. She is determined to leave behind a testament to their time together, a story for the world, and a final gift for the boy who changed everything.
Because even when a heart stops beating, a true love story never dies.
Favorite quote:
"“If I die,” I whispered a while later, “I want to go just like this—with you next to me, holding my hand.” June’s lips trembled. But she nodded, making me that silent promise. “Write our story, Junebug. Let our parallel-universe selves live the best lives they can. We deserve to have our happily ever after, even if it’s in another life.”- Tillie Cole "Write me for You."
It has been quite sometime since I've dived into a Young Adult novel. As I've grown older I veered toward reading dark romance and thrillers . While these two genres are my favorite to read, sometimes its like a breath of fresh air reading something less heavy. Something the feels hopeful, more light hearted. This book truly felt like I was being taken back to being young, when believing in love felt easy, being able to love someone without doubt.
I enjoyed reading this story, as well as being reminded of how fragile life truly is in this story. Jesse and June were planning their futures after high school one moment, to be giving a terminal diagnosis the next. This can be true for any of us, and I feel it's so easy to forget this and get lost in the hustle and bustle of life. I loved that regardless of the circumstances both characters lived out their life the best they could, and June created a world of a happily ever after that they weren't sure would happen. To sit with the comfort in knowing that somewhere out there in another universe you're happy, healthy and get everything you could ever want.
If you're looking to step away from the dark romances, the thrillers, fantasies etc. give this book a read. I will warn you that you'll need at least one box of tissues! Don't worry though, it's not all sad there are some funny and happy moments woven in the story as well. The way this was written had me truly feeling all the emotions of the characters right up to the end, which is something I wish i found in more books.
