Next week, One Book One Bronx will meet at the Mott Haven Library/NYPL to discuss Village Weavers. The community conversation will be followed by an unforgettable afternoon of literature, history, and cultural connection. Acclaimed writer Myriam J.A. Chancy will be in conversation with bestselling author Cleyvis Natera to discuss Village Weavers, Haiti’s enduring resilience, and the complex history of Hispaniola. Don’t miss this powerful gathering of voices and community. This event is free and open to the public. It follows the book club discussion.

Myriam Chancy is a Time Best Book of April 2024, is a Guggenheim Fellow, and HBA Chair of the Humanities at Scripps College. Her award-winning work has earned honors including the American Book Award and the Guyana Prize in Literature.

Cleyvis Natera is the award-winning author of Neruda on the Park and the forthcoming The Grand Paloma Resort. Her work appears in The New York Times, TIME, and more.
