Michael Mosley, a missing British doctor and TV personality, was found dead Sunday morning on the Greek island where he was last seen, according to his family. The discovery came after a massive search operation began after Mosley went missing while out for a walk on Wednesday.

"Michael was an adventurous man, and that's part of what made him so special," his wife, Dr. Clare Bailey Mosley, told the Associated Press. "I am devastated to have lost Michael, my amazing, humorous, kind, and bright husband. We had a really lucky life together. We adored one other and were really happy together."
During a trek, Mosley's wife claimed he went the wrong way and passed asleep in a spot where he was hard to notice, according to the Associated Press, which quoted her statement. Although they did not reveal the identity of the remains to the public, authorities earlier on Sunday revealed that a body was discovered during what turned into a protracted, multi-day search for Mosley.
Searchers on a private boat discovered the body on a rocky coast approximately thirty minutes' walk from the village of Pedi, where Mosley was last seen on Wednesday before going missing, according to a police spokesperson who spoke on condition of anonymity because the investigation is still ongoing.
Mosley went missing on the Greek island of Symi on Wednesday afternoon whilegoing for a walk. His absence last week sparked a massive search operation by thecoast guard, police, and fire officials, who utilized drones, a police dog, and ahelicopter to track him down over many days of high heat.
