Fall Into You
So I am someone who has never really been into audiobooks, I have ADHD and if I am not actively reading words my mind starts to wander and I’ve now missed 3 chapters of the story. But I have recently started to listen to books on my commutes to work. The other side of the book world that I am missing is romance novels. Especially recent ones. I really don’t like books with a lot of smut and if it has some “spice” it needs to serve the story. Also if a book is overtaken with sexy scenes I find my brain tuning out. I have always valued narrative over unnecessary smut scenes. For all these reasons and more the romance genre has simply never appealed to me. However I decided to give it a shot with my first ever audiobook because if I zoned out I knew I wouldn’t have missed anything, and I would have no problem turning off when I got to work. So let’s review my first ever romance novel, Fall Into You.

Rick Riordan Presents Imprint vs short stories from class:
My creative project is a compare and contrast between three books from a published imprint to several short stories we have read in class. The imprint is called Rick Riordan Presents, Riordan is the author of the Percy Jackson series and many others who have partnered with Disney Hyperion Book Group to complete a simple goal. From Riordan himself, he states on the imprint's website “the goal of the imprint is to publish great middle- grade authors from underrepresented cultures and backgrounds, to let them tell their own stories inspired by the mythologies and folklore of their own heritage” (Riordan). The respective stories that I have chosen to analyze focus on Korean, Hindu, and West African mythologies. Those books are The Dragon Pearl by Yoon Ha Lee, Aru Shah and the End of Time by Roshani Chokshi, and Tristan Strong Punches a Hole in the Sky by Kwame Mbalia. The PowerPoint presentation will be analyzing settings, conflicts, and themes in the primary and secondary sources.

CRIME EXPOSED, A BUCK TAYLOR NOVEL
CRIME EXPOSED, A BUCK TAYLOR NOVEL ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Reviewed by Romuald Dzemo for Readers' Favorite Crime Exposed: A Buck Taylor Novel by Chuck Morgan is the fourth entry in a riveting crime series. Buck Taylor is pulled into investigating the disappearance of a missing journalist, a case that eventually leads to murder and child pornography. The narrative starts in a very curious way, a powerful opening that piqued my sense of curiosity. We get a clear glimpse of the protagonist in the first line of the narration: “Jim McBride knew his wife was pissed... The sound of slamming doors that bombarded his ears indicated that whoever she was mad at would receive her full wrath. He was glad it wasn't him.” This strong opening already gives readers a hint of what to expect, and they are keen on discovering who Barb will turn out to be. But she disappears just after the first chapter and in a tragic kind of way that establishes the suspense and the irony that drives the narrative.
