Incredibooks: Witsec 3 & 4
A review of the second half of the Witsec series

As a continuation of my review of the first two books in Ashley Rostek’s WitSec book series I have finally finished reading the third and fourth entries in the series which is also the conclusion and I have to say that they did not disappoint.
Just to recap, the Witsec series is centered around a young girl named Shiloh McConnell who has been put in a witness protection program by her uncle Logan after her family was brutally murdered by her psychopathic stalker named Mr. X who was also Shiloh’s English teacher in high school. While be relocated in the program Shiloh meets and falls in love with a group of four brothers named Knox, Keelan, Colt and Creed.
Though Shiloh has become taken with the four brothers she also maintains a dismissiveness and avoidance with them due to her trauma of loss. As time goes by in witsec, Shiloh finds herself having to put up with uninhibited turmoil from the scoundrels and scumbags of the town wile also becoming more intimate with Knox, Keelan, Colt and Creed who have become her harem of boyfriends. As their relationship grows more and more sexual Shiloh realizes that she can no longer keep the boys at arms length.
It has been very hard for our leading protagonist to find any measure of normalcy and happiness due to the traumatic loss of her family, but with the newfound love of her boyfriends, the rocky relationship with her US Marshall uncle Logan as well as the new friendship she has formed with the couple Isabelle and Ethan, Shiloh now realizes that she can no longer allow herself to be held back by her fears of loss. She has a new family with a newfound sense of love and she wants to live it all to the fullest.
Of course trouble is not far behind just as things start looking up for Shiloh. She endured bullying from the resident mean girl Cassy and her snobby clique at school. What makes matters worse here is Cassy’s father is the town sheriff and he is a corrupted hot head who is hellbent on maintaining his daughter’s reputation by making Shiloh’s life a living hell. This fight is not without a silver lining as Shiloh’s boyfriends and her uncle Logan and his better half Ian fight for Shiloh’s well-being against the corrupt sheriff.
As life continues to get better for Shiloh the nightmares she endures on the regular become less and less amidst the time to confront the biggest demon of her past draws closer and closer as the man who murdered her family, Mr. X is slowly making his way back into the picture, putting Shiloh and her entire extended family at risk. It is here that we see Shiloh transform into a warrior who is determined to preserve everything she loves.
What I love most about this second half is the character development. I love how Shiloh grows as a person due to her relationship with the brothers and how we learn that the only reason why she was so dismissive of them was because she was afraid of losing them. Adversely we learn that losing Shiloh is also the biggest fear of the brothers who also lost their parents tragedy, especially Knox, who was actually my favorite character from the story.
Knox was most intriguing to me because he came off as very detestable abd definitely someone who seemed to kill everyone else’s spirit of fun with his stern seriousness, but we come to find that he may very well be the most loving and caring of all and given his time with Shiloh his heart softens and his mood relaxes and he certainly becomes more likeable.
Overall this second half conclusion of Ashley Rostek’s WitSec series is a thrill ride complete with being action packed. Rostek continued to do a great job at developing characters who we can’t help but get attached to. If you’re into a great stalker thriller with a reverse harem twist to it, then Ashley Rostek’s WitSec series is the story for you.
