I Will Never Switch to 'Online' Reading
Having a book in your hands is the most magical feeling in the world.

I have been constantly told by people that I should consider reading all of my horror books online. And I could save a lot of room in my bedroom by only purchasing digital copies. I don't understand why people choose to switch to digital copies of their favorite stories.
I have always preferred actual copies of books.
It's not the same reading a book online.
I have actually tried in the past, but I always find myself about to lose my mind. I have a lot of personal experience with reading books online, and it was not pretty.
I was forced to purchase books digitally or trying to look for a free copy to save money. Every single time, it felt like my own personal nightmare. I couldn't stand the thought of having to read a book on my laptop. Even though some of the books were quite entertaining, I kept finding myself losing focus with what I was reading.
And the worst part, was what I kept hearing from multiple college students during my third and fourth year. They kept insisting to me that this method of reading was for the best, and they were saving a lot of money with textbooks. For me, I absolutely hated my online reading experience.
All the textbooks and stories I had to read online suddenly became boring to me from out of nowhere, because that magical feeling that I was desperately searching for was nowhere to be found. It also didn't help that I was reading boring ass novels on my laptop too, and damn, I really hated reading those stories online!
It also didn't help that I had a college professor...that was a bit strange.
I had a professor that would select the most sickest novels for the class to read. I was in absolute shock with the stories we were forced to read to pass the class.
I'm not exaggerating when I say this...this is an actual true story.
We were forced to read books that consisted of extremely disturbing themes. Heavy events that beyond shocked me were present in these books. The professor didn't even warn anybody about any of the books, and I highly doubt that anyone in my class was comfortable with reading these books.
I wonder to this day if I should have reported this professor...that is how crazy the content was in these books!
So yeah...I think you get the point why I hated reading books online. And these messed up books made my reading situation so much worse.
I definitely prefer reading physical copies of books.
Especially when it comes to the horror genre.
I have personally collected a crapload of horror novels throughout the years, and I have literally read some of these stories over and over. It's like watching a horror movie on repeat for me, and it's a fantastic feeling. Reading a book is like watching a live action movie, and it's a great feeling for my horror obsessed self.
It's impossible for me to feel this way when it comes to 'online' reading.
There is no magical feeling of being teleported to another world, picturing the characters, picturing how the world in the book looks, and how terrifying some scenes are when it comes to the horror scenarios that take place.
It makes me so happy to see that people are still reading real copies of books. I have recently been going to Barnes & Noble, and it's so awesome to find strangers eagerly exploring all genre sections throughout the store, chatting about the authors they love.
I hope these kinds of book readers will keep going strong.
It's such a wonderful feeling.
Thank you for reading!
