I’ve always been a big reader, growing up getting lost in a book was my favorite thing in the whole world. With kindle it was easy to just read online but I love the feel of book in my hands, curling up with a cup or tea, or hot chocolate. With school ending this month I had more time to crack up some books.

The first book I read this month was November 9th by Colleen Hoover. I have to say it took me awhile to get invested into but once I got hooked it was hard to put down. It took me about 3 days to read from start to finish, I think being able to feel the emotions the writer wants you to feel is always my favorite thing about reading. Whether its happiness, sadness, or passion, being able to feel what it wants you to feel. This book in my opinion was about healing after trauma, finding yourself and finding love in the unlikely place. Though I do have to say the right hook at the end about him actually being responsible for the trauma she faced, really made me cry. I rate this book a solid 8.

The second book I read this month is called Evvie Drake Starts Over by Linda Holmes. This book is about second chances and starting over. I really enjoyed being able to get to know the characters and about the town they live in. Evvie Drake begins married to a doctor, she decides she’s going to leave him, starts packing her car with her belongings when she gets a call saying her husband has been in an accident and is dead. After she isn’t mourning him but feeling guilt and shame from deciding to leave him, even though he was emotionally abusive for the entire relationship. She meets Dean, who is a former MLB player, looking to start over in life and figure out what he wants to do with the rest of his life. They become friends, and then start a relationship built on honest communication. This is a very fast read with short chapter for people who don‘t like long chapter. I rate this book a solid 7.5.

The third book I’ve read this month is called People we Meet On Vacation by Emily Henry. I really enjoyed this book so much that I read the book in 3 days. It’s about a women named Poppy who loves to travel, and her best friend Alex who is almost a home body but they go on a vacation every summer together. Unknown to both of them, that the other is in love with the other. This book is such a slow burn that almost goes the whole book without them kissing. I think slow burns are one of my favorite to read when it moves so fast. This book was just released this October and honestly I’m kinda sad that it took me this long to read it. I rate this a 9 out of 10.

The last book I’ve read this month is called the Romantic Agenda by Claire Kann. This book was pretty good but different. Very slow burn with going pretty much the whole book before anything romantic happening. I think the main character really learned a lot about herself and getting out of a toxic mindset with her best friend. Basically falling for someone else while telling herself no one could come between her and her bestfriend. At the end everyone is finally happy and friends. I rate this book a 6 out of 10.
January is coming and the reading challenge starts over. My goal for next year is to read around 5 physical books a month. If you have any suggestions on what to read leave a comment down below.
