A Journey Through Time and the Power of Art
Eva, a young and talented artist, has always found solace in her vibrant paintings, using them as a way to escape the dullness of her routine life. However, lately, her creativity has started to fade, and she feels trapped in a cycle of uninspired work. One day, while cleaning out her late grandmother’s attic, Eva discovers an old, dust-covered photo album hidden in a forgotten corner.
Curious, she flips through the album and is immediately struck by the vividness of the memories captured within. Each photograph is filled with life and color, depicting moments of joy, love, and adventure from a time long before she was born. As she studies the images, she begins to feel a connection to the people in the photos, particularly a young woman who looks strikingly similar to her—her grandmother.
Inspired by the stories the photographs seem to tell, Eva begins to recreate the scenes in her paintings, infusing each canvas with the emotions she imagines were felt at those moments. The process reignites her passion for art, and as she paints, Eva begins to unravel the untold stories of her grandmother’s life—stories of love lost and found, dreams pursued, and the struggles faced during a turbulent time in history.
Through her art, Eva not only reconnects with her grandmother’s past but also discovers her own path forward. The colors that had once faded in her life now burst forth, guiding her toward new experiences and a deeper understanding of herself. The album, once forgotten, becomes a bridge between generations, helping Eva to see the world, and her place in it, through a richer, more vibrant lens.

My New Book is Finally Here
My poetry collection Beautiful and Brutal Things is done. It's actually done and finally published over 270 pages. Over a year of my life went into this book. More than a year, really. Long days at my computer, sometimes seven days a week because I couldn't stop even when I probably should have. Then two months of editing that felt harder than the writing itself. But it's finished, and I'm still standing, and the book is real.

Rachel Reviews: Paradise Cove - They Escaped the Cuckoo's Nest by Pini Dunner
On starting Pini Dunner's book, I was grateful for the thorough history that is provided at the start. This gives a much-needed context in order to enjoy the subsequent letters contained therein. The letters belong to George Nagel, an octagenarian pursuing a psychology degree which in itself would be remarkable; however, it is soon clear that this is just one remarkable thing in a life full of them.
