The right products are not enough. The routine you choose will depend on your skin type, the ingredients in your products, and the time of day. It is best to apply your products in the order they are applied.

The Perfect Skincare Regimen: Steps to Success

No matter how good your skincare routine may be, you can improve it with the correct products. Start with a healthy, clean base. Next, add active ingredients to seal it in.

These steps will help you to create a healthy skin routine.

Wash your skin

Your face can be washed with water each morning and night. Next, use a small amount of gentle cleanser between the palms of your hands. Gently massage your face. Use warm water to wash your face. Use a soft towel to pat your face. For makeup wearers, you may need to wash your face twice a night. Make sure to clean your face first with a cleansing oil or micellar fluid. The eye-makeup removers can be left on for as long as two minutes. This will make it easier to remove the makeup and keep you from rubbing your eyes. Then wash your face with mild soapy water.

Toner

After you have cleaned your skin, apply toner. Use a few drops on your fingers or on a cotton pad. Use your exfoliating lotion only at night. Because it uses ingredients such as glycolic acid to remove dead skin cells. Hydrating products can only be used twice daily. Retinoids and exfoliating lotions should not be used at the same time.

Use serum

To protect your skin against free radicals, use a serum that contains antioxidants such as a brightening Vitamin C or a Vitamin E serum in the morning. Even if your skin is dry from anti-aging products, the night is a good time to use a moisturizing cream containing hyaluronic. Serums can contain exfoliants like lactic acid and alpha-hydroxy acids. Use moisturizer first, and water-based products last.

Use eye cream

You can apply regular moisturizer to the under-eye area. You will need to apply a special eye cream over your moisturizer. Eye creams are not as thick as moisturizers. An eye cream made from metal can be used to reduce puffiness. Puffy eyes can be caused by fluid retention at night.

Spot treatments are a good option

Spot treatment for acne should be done at night, when the body is in repair mode. It can be irritating to mix acne-fighting ingredients like Benzoyl Peroxide and salicylic Acids with retinol. Do your best to keep your skin calm and hydrated.

Moisturize

Moisturizer is not only good for your skin, but it also locks in any other products you have applied. For mornings, a lightweight lotion with minimum SPF 30 is the best. Use a thicker moisturizer for the evening. For those with dry skin, a cream can be used both morning and night.

Use the retinoid

Retinoids can cause skin cell damage and should be avoided during the day. They can cause irritation to sensitive skin. Retinoids should be avoided in the sun. Sunscreens are also recommended as they can make your skin hypersensitive.

Use face oil

It is not capable of absorbing other products so you must apply it to your skin immediately after they have been used.

Use sunscreen

Although it may seem like the last step in any skin-care regiment, most dermatologists agree that sun protection should be the first. Sun protection can prevent skin cancers, premature aging, and other problems. Even if your moisturizer does not contain SPF, you should still use sunscreen. You should apply chemical sunscreens 20 minutes before going outside. Broad-spectrum sunscreens protect against both UVA and UVB radiation.
