Product Review: 'Say Yes To... Coconut' Lip Mask
I love face masks. I almost think I have an obsession, because every time I am in any store that sells them, I have to spend at least ten minutes in that aisle looking through them and end up buying at least two of them every trip. Even more, I love trying new ones. While shopping for one to try in Target, I came across "Say Yes To" lip mask. It is a two step process: part one consists of a coconut oil scrub to exfoliate the lips, and step two is a paper mask to wear on the lips for fifteen minutes. The duo promises to deliver smooth, plumper- than- before lips ,and only for about $2 (give or take a couple cents).

I Hate My Natural Hair
Back home, I had always put my hair on the back burner. I was raised on the devil's cream (relaxer), which uses harsh chemicals to permanently straighten hair. My mother was a high school teacher, university lecturer, and examiner all at the same time, so she barely had time to do her own hair, let alone mine. Relaxer left coarse hair soft and easy to manage. Ideal, right? WRONG! Relaxer burns. I grew up scratching scabs off my scalp because the relaxed hair was more convenient and deemed more beautiful. African parents did not confront their natural hair and made no effort to understand it. Unfortunately, this was passed on to their children.

Makeup: Ditching the Mask
When I was in high school, I would wake up at four AM to shower, blow-dry, and straighten my hair, do a full-coverage, going-to-tha-club makeup routine, and pick out an outfit. This routine usually took from two to three hours depending on how "good" I wanted to look. The reason why I started this routine in the first place is because I was bullied for my appearance since fourth grade. What I wanted was to prove them wrong. I was obsessed with gaining approval from my peers, but I was never able to fully give that approval to myself.

10 Reasons Your Moisturizer is Drying Out Your Skin
Moisturizing might seem like something that will never work with your skin, but it's not the step in your skincare routine that you need to get rid of. An Acne Face Wash That Actually Works
Okay, I know a lot of people who have had severe acne since high school or even later in life, and I'm not talking about just a couple pimples every so often. I'm talking about my peeps that have had acne all over the face or in large portions and just won't go away.
