From Navy blues to studio beats—this is Androtta.

Top Story - March 2025
Androtta takes a moment to snip the flowers before taking another deep dive into her craft!

I met Janeilla Burns over five years ago, back when I was just a stylist in a local salon—juggling motherhood, studying writing, and pursuing creative dreams on the side. She walked in like a real-life Disney princess—Filipina, radiant, and effortlessly magnetic.

Even then, I knew she had it.
Janeilla was an icon.

At the time, she was about to study music at Old Dominion University, mastering her voice while learning her industry from the inside out. What I didn’t know then was that this bubbly, ambitious young woman had already packed a lifetime of accomplishments into her journey.

She’d been performing since childhood—piano lessons at three, dance training in ballet, hip-hop, jazz, and tap. She performed at Disneyland, opened for Pentatonix in high school, and trained with industry professionals, including directors from Boy Meets World and Drake and Josh. She didn’t just have stage presence—she earned it!

And then, like the powerhouse she is, she put her rising fame on pause to serve our country.

As a U.S. Navy veteran and Operations Specialist, Janeilla carried her passion with her—even singing at her own graduation. Stationed in Norfolk, Virginia, she embraced the honor of service while holding tight to the dream that had always been part of her.

In 2020, she took another bold leap—becoming the first Filipina to win Miss Jetset, proving again that she wasn’t made to follow trends. She was built to set them.

“I was over the moon,” she told Jetset Magazine.
“It reminded me I can do anything I set my mind to.”

Now, under the artist name Androtta, she’s released original singles, led her a cappella group as president, and performed alongside institutions like Harvard. She’s nearing graduation from ODU’s F. Ludwig Diehn School of Music with a focus in Sound Recording Technology.

Picture lifted from Instagram, hope you don't mind Janiella! 🍻😬✨

Fast forward to now—2025.
Janeilla stepping out of her military boots and college halls, and I’m stepping away from the shears and blow dryers.
Together, we face bold new beginnings, our faces turned toward the wind, bracing ourselves for whatever comes next.

And tonight at midnight? She’s releasing what may be her most personal work yet:

Self Love Journey.”
And I’m dropping this article to support her—because she f*ing deserves it.

What a knockout 🥹😍🍻✨

This song isn’t just a vibe. It’s a statement.
It’s a reflection of everything she’s become: an artist, a veteran, a visionary.
It’s for the dreamers who detour.
The fighters who keep singing through the silence.
The ones still learning to love themselves, loudly and without apology.

So without further ado…

Stream it. Save it. Share it.
Because this is just the beginning of Janeilla Burns’ Self Love Journey.

And maybe—just maybe—it’s the beginning for both of us.

We went all out for our sit down, complete with a girls spa day included! 🖤✨

…I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.” – Casablanca.

P.S. Big news
Janeilla Burns will be gracing the cover of my upcoming Vocal E-Magazine’s first issue of Breakfast & Company, debuting in the Writers section of Vocal this April 1st!

The issue will place love under a writer’s microscope, exploring how creators on Vocal examine love in all its forms—from tragic to hilarious, from poetic to painfully real.

I’ll be sharing my favorite stories on love, highlighting both well-known authors and hidden gems. We’ll also be celebrating Mike Singleton’s winning screenplay summary entitled, “Da Vinci’s Dog,” written in response to my recent screenwriting challenge, “Could YOU be An Award Winning Script Writer?”

And don’t miss the exclusive sneak peek into May’s issue, where I take you on a wild, frugal anniversary adventure through Oregon’s off-season beauty. From mystical coastal towns to film-famous backdrops Astoria found in film classics like, The Goonies and Practical Magic. I’ll be interviewing locals, soaking up stories, and falling in love with storytelling all over again.

This isn’t just a magazine—Breakfast & Company will be a love letter to stories, storytellers, and the beautiful chaos of real life.

What an inspiring read—Janiella’s journey is such a powerful reminder of resilience, creativity, and self-love. Her story really resonates, especially with the message behind “Self Love Journey.” On a related note, for anyone exploring ways to embrace self-care and confidence, especially in Australia, I recently came across a thoughtful resource offering rose adult toys designed to celebrate intimacy and empowerment. 🌹 You can check it out here: https://therosetoy.com.au/ — it’s all about feeling good, inside and out. Wishing Janiella continued success—can’t wait to hear the new release!

A brief stop by or not, good to have you back, Lauren! 🍻 I hope life’s going well and hope the big changes are taking you in the right direction. You are amazing for endorsing your friend like this. The snippet of the release sounded great. I just listened to whole thing (on the Deezer app because I'm a music app scrub) - great lyrics and fantastic voice.
