Winters performed the song on the British TV music show “The Old Grey Whistle Test.” In 1972 he won the Grammy for Best R&B Song. It is at number 285 on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.
“Here Comes the Sun” is a song recorded by the English rock band The Beatles. It is on their 1969 album Abbey Road. The song was written by George Harrison and became one of his best-known compositions. This track promoted the 50th Anniversary re-issue of Abbey Road in 2019. It charted on Billboard Hot Rock Songs and has been certified double Platinum for UK sales since 2010. The song has become the most streamed The Beatles song on Spotify from all over the world.
“You Are My Sunshine” is a song that was published by American politician, singer, and songwriter Jimmie Davis and American songwriter Charles Mitchell in 1940. There are more than 350 artists who have recorded cover versions and it has been translated into 30 languages. In 1977, the Louisiana State Legislature named this song the state song in honor of Jimmie Davis, who was a two-time governor of the state. It is one of Davis’ biggest-selling records. His version received the Towering Song Award from the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame in 2000. The song is on the RIAA list of the Top 365 “Songs of the Century” and was added for long-term preservation in the Library of Congress by the National Recording Registry in 2013. My all-time favorite version is the one sung by American singer, songwriter, and dancer June Carter and American country singer and songwriter Johnny Cash. For this husband and wife. the love shone through in the song.
“Walking In the Sunshine” is a song recorded by British singer and songwriter Rod Stewart. It was co-written by Stewart and English session keyboardist, record producer, songwriter, and composer Kevin Savigar. It is the third track on Stewart’s 29th album, Another Country.
“A Place in the Sun” is a 1966 soul single by American and Motown musician Stevie Wonder. The song was written by American songwriter and record producer Ronald Miller and American songwriter Bryan Wells. It is Wonder’s third Top Ten hit and charted on the Billboard Pop Singles and R&B charts.
“I’ll Follow the Sun” is a song by the English rock band The Beatles. The ballad was written and sung by band member Paul McCartney and is credited to Lennon-McCartney. It is on their 1964 album Beatles For Sale in the UK and Beatles ’65 in the US. The song was re-released in 2013 on the album On-Air Live at the BBC Volume 2.
“Waiting for the Sun” is a song that was written by American singer, poet, filmmaker, and songwriter Jim Morrison. He was the lead vocalist for the American rock band The Doors. In 1971 the band came out with the album Waiting for the Sun, but since the song was not yet completed it is not included in this album. The song is the second track on their album Morrison Hotel.
“Sunshine Superman” is a song written and recorded by Scottish singer and songwriter Donovan. It was released as a single in 1966. The song went to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and is on his third album of the same name. There is a full version on the 1969 album Donovan’s Greatest Hits.
“Sunshine On My Shoulders” is a song recorded by American singer and songwriter John Denver. It is on his 1971 album Poems, Prayers, & Promises, and was released as a single in 1973. The song was at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The 2000 biographical film about Denver, “Take Me Home: The John Denver Story” has the 1996 re-recorded version of this song.
“Walking on Sunshine” is a song that was written by English rock singer, songwriter, and the band’s guitarist Kimberley Rew for the British rock band Katrina and the Waves. It is the second single from the 1985 self-titled album.
