The Soundtrack Of My Year

Writer's Challenge

By Canuck Scriber Lisa LachapellePublished about a year ago Updated about a year ago 3 min read
The 1st Single off the next album that will be released in January 2025

For the Soundtrack of Your Year Writer's Challenge I chose to start almost exactly a year ago when the worst Christmas topped my list. Without going into the gritty details and pitfalls of the year that were the first six months of it. If I had to force myself to see any positives I would have to say there are none. Other than this, from the collection of music I made. All of the lyrics came from my books of poems.

I am usually the one that people go to with their problems, whether it's spiritual coaching or life coaching (I do that part-time while I work on my creative work full-time, I am also a Rec Therapist and Spiritualist. I had a small business that I am still trying to get back after 26 weeks.) I am not the only one that had a bad 2024, I am not sure what it is in the collective heart of the world that made it so for so many people. Perhaps a strange cluster cascading the astrological charts, maybe people with too much time on their hands to think about it. From a spiritual perspective, what other one is there? It's a global s p i r i t u a l cycle, not about learning but adapting. What that means for people individually is personal but it is part of the wave.

A bit of advice - people never choose their problems. If you hear that you do, ignore it. It's not possible to and to think so would be a failing regard. Take practical steps, and immerse yourself in something you love to do - it corrects any turmoil.

Hit with a horrible acid reflux attack (I'd never even heard of that before), the inside of my esophagus, nasal passages and throat were seared so badly that I literally lost my voice for 4 months (can take a year to completely heal the lining. go figure). That happened shortly before Christmas. No singing to the radio for a while, I dove into writing, again.

Some people have had a bad Christmas at some time or other, so here is a song that I wrote about a lousy one. This song about how nostalgia can bring a flicker of hope.

Christmas Flickers

Time resonating still...

North Of The Shore

Gumption gaining momentum...

We Sing Our Own Song

Troubled ground, sitting like a woman scorned...

Unbend Your Soul

Finding My Bearing, again

An Intuitive Grasp

Patience is everything...

Think

There is nothing more refreshing then a little Techno vibe and more Techno vibe

To Bend The Soul Forthcoming

My Passion...

I told you...

Greetings Gentlemen

2024 may have been the worst year since two of my favorite people passed away over the years but one thing is for certain, it will be the last year ever that I lose everything. I'm not done fighting for what I love and I am ready for 2025. Leaving 2024 with an aching heart, one thing I crafted out of this experience was the music. I had originally planned on creating meditation and contemplation music years ago and I am getting to that next, but I am glad that I started with the Versification Project, turning poetry into songs. Bob Dylan started that way so hey, so can I.

Here is the link to my new website. On the Music Section there is an option to Scroll & Listen and it will be updated weekly, going into 2025. My goal was 75 songs by January 1st and I will reach that goal. I have worked no less than 40 days and 40 nights non-stop on this part of the goal. I am happy to have approximately 2000 views on just one streaming platform and website visits from across Europe and North America.

Thank you for listening.
