Ultimate National Park Playlists. Top Story - August 2021.
This year, much of my free time has been spent obsessively planning a month-long road trip for myself and my closest friend. Both of us are at the quintessential part of our 20’s where if we don’t take the time to drop everything and explore, we won’t ever commit to it again. With pressure to build our careers, and grad school looming over the horizon, we are taking the time to make the most of this beautifully, chaotic period of growth in our lives.

The Calmness of City Pulse
A year and a half ago, I went with my husband to Daytona BiketoberFest. We stayed in one of the tall hotels on the beach. We cruised the streets, had a few bites and a few more drinks, danced, sang our hearts out, people watched (and any Bike Fest is GREAT for that) and tipsy, came back to the hotel room. We talked on the terrace and listened to the bikes revving bellow, sounds of engines meshed with rolling waves and the wind. Leaving the terrace door open, we went to bed.

It is the Journey not the Destination
Long plane rides are the worst. I am not afraid to fly, in fact, I actively like to have a window seat to look out at the clouds. That being said, if a flight of mine ventures over the three hour mark then I tend to start getting restless.

Travel Around the World Through Music
What are the Turkic languages? The Turkic languages are members of a language family that consists of 35 recorded languages and develop a family of languages within the Altai language group. The Turkic languages are spoken by the Turkic people of Eurasia from Southern Europe, Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, Central Asia, Western Asia, North Asia and East Asia. The Turkic languages share similar features to each other in phonology, morphology, and syntax though languages like Chuvash, Khalaj and Sakha are considered different from the remainder of the languages. The most primitive linguistic records are Old Turkic inscriptions found near the Orhon River in Mongolia and the Yenisey River in south-central Russia, which date from the 8th century CE.

William and me
Malawi is a tiny land in South Central Africa, locked country wedged between Zambia, Tanzania and Mozambique. Its residents are 98% subsistence farmers, and it has no natural resources except fertile farmland where tobacco, tea, coffee, maize can be grown, and trees (Mango, Avocado, Baobab, Acacia and Neem). Tobacco is the main cash crop and accounts for the largest income in exports in Malawi. With a global decline on the use of tobacco, more and more families are finding themselves without a market for their crop.

Wildflowers
“I don’t want to live in Chicago anymore.” The words I had just scribbled in my journal glared up at me. I was shocked I had written them. It was a truth that had been simmering below the surface for months, an undercurrent of dissatisfaction and constant busyness that dictated my life. It had taken a solo road trip to Scotland for it to all boil over, allowing me to be brave enough to admit it, even if that admonition was for my eyes only.

The Road Is Calling for Your Listening Pleasure
The Open Road Calls Getting behind the wheel can be a chore, pleasure, or a combination thereof. It often depends on the purpose and destination. However when the open road calls you to it, especially for lengths of time that warrant motivation or focus, nothing can take the place of companionship. That often comes in the form of music, and what you play on radio, Bluetooth or any playlist. After all, the road can be lonesome or monotonous at times, and it takes support, that music does an awesome job at supplying every time the dial is pressed.
