Michael Jackson was a pop music icon, widely considered to be one of the greatest performers of all time. Born on August 29, 1958, in Gary, Indiana, Michael Jackson began his music career at a young age as a member of the Jackson 5, a group made up of himself and his four older brothers. The group quickly became a sensation in the late 1960s and early 1970s, with a string of hit singles including "ABC," "I Want You Back," and "Never Can Say Goodbye." As a solo artist, Michael Jackson achieved even greater success. He released his debut album, "Off the Wall," in 1979, which featured hit songs like "Rock With You" and "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough." The album was a commercial and critical success, and helped establish Jackson as a major force in pop music. However, it was his 1982 album "Thriller" that truly made Michael Jackson a global superstar. The album remains the best-selling album of all time, with over 66 million copies sold worldwide. The album spawned a number of hit singles, including "Billie Jean," "Beat It," and the title track "Thriller," which was accompanied by a now-iconic music video. The music video, which featured Jackson as a zombie and included intricate choreography and special effects, revolutionized the music video genre and is still widely regarded as one of the greatest music videos ever made.
