Survival of the Fittest
Let me first start by saying this; appearances can be deceiving. Nothing looks like it supposed to be. So imagine you see someone and associate them with a particular song. Well if you look at me, you would assume I listen to hip hop or rap. Mainly because of the color of my skin, and just my sheer size. Tank top, sweat pants, black gloves, and beanie hat; who wouldn't assume this about me in a gym. Not so much the case. There is a population of people who enjoy listening to this genre of music when they're exercising. I’m not going to say that I don't fancy a trap song here or there, however, I take a much different method. Usually equipped with black over-ear headphones, pre-workout shake, batman beanie, and a tattoo across my chest, and with my imagination, I take my mind to the other side.

Running on Empty
Girl. Let's face it, 2020 has been the year to end all years. Between quarantine, lockdowns, the general theme of uncertainty, and the unknown plaguing us all, I think I speak for many people when I say we all collectively just stopped caring for ourselves. Unless you were one of those people who could work out from home while balancing your toddler, your dog, and your zoom call, then I'm applauding you from my couch.

Animal Workout Playlist
If there's one thing I can live without, it's watching other people exercise. I don't want to see stretchy workout clothes on lithe bodies bending and bouncing with the dogged determination of a -- well, of a dog unless I can do the moves myself. Which I can't and never could.

The Reboot
The 2020 Reboot My workout playlist kills two birds with one stone. It motivates me to get through my intense workouts and reboots my mind so that I can also enjoy myself while moving towards the finish line. Everyone talks of their playlists and how the songs beats and energy gives them all the motivation they need, which is true for the most part, but I on the other hand don’t care if it has the most bass or the biggest beat drops in history; if I don’t feel like working out its very hard for a song to change that. After trial and error I realized that my mind had to match the energy I was trying to get my body to have. Which created what I now call my Reboot Playlist. I mean its 2020 who doesn’t need a reboot right? Well I had to reboot my mind while I tried to get my pre-kid body back. Ive struggled with my weight for the last 3 years after having my son gaining a total of 140 pounds. Due to the pregnancy itself and depression due to being in a very toxic relationship with my sons father. So after ending that and getting into a healthier environment I decided it was time to get better both mentally and physically.

Lockdown Playlist
If it wasn’t for music, what would we do? Where would we be? I know for a fact that I would be in a pretty dark place if it wasn’t for music. I don’t think I would have achieved half the things I did without music motivating me. Anyone who knows me knows I have an eclectic taste of music, even though I think everyone has to some agree some say mine is more extreme.

Sweaty Betty: A Workout Playlist
So, it's lockdown 2.0 in England and the home workouts are back! No gym, just cardio around the nearest park, and leg and ab workouts all while you binge a new show on Netflix. The winter season has kicked in here in the UK, and it has brought all of its cold air and dark nights with it. It's definitely NOT the type of weather that's going to get you motivated.

My Workout Playlist & Weight Struggles
Let's start this with a long disclaimer (there's tl;dr down there somewhere). I've not been to the gym since... 12th March 2020. I was loving the progress I'd been making: lifting heavier weights than ever before on the dumbbell bench press, actually doing cardio, sled pulls and all that fun stuff. I was generally feeling better in my body, losing fat and fitting into clothes again too. My diet was better as well.
