A Sibling-Influenced Musical Journey. Top Story - January 2024.
Part 2: The Teenage Years and My Introduction to Live Music As I stepped closer to my teenage years, the music my brothers loved continued laying the foundation of my own musical world. During the summers, our house in Sherman, Connecticut, would be alive with music β particularly on Wednesday nights. Weekly beach picnics ended up at our house β the teenagers downstairs, the adults upstairs. Too young to hang out with either group, I would fall asleep in my bed to the sounds of The Rolling Stones, The Who, and Led Zeppelin echoing through the house.

Are These Folk Songs?
Introduction While researching songs for articles that I share in UK & Irish Folk Music 60s-80s I started thinking of songs by non-folk artists that could be considered folk songs. Folk music often documents the zeitgeist, as well as telling stories and including love songs and lost love songs, all of which are seen across all genres of music.

Little Sister. Top Story - January 2024.
I am a huge fan of the South African duo which consists of sisters Jenni Lonmon and Debbi Lonmon. Of course, I'm biased as Jenni took care of my mom for six months and bonded with her, and became best friends with her, and has been the source of much laughter and great times for me.

World Turned Upside Down - Incredible Words From Leon Rosselson
Introduction Sometime in the past I first heard this song, either by Billy Bragg or Dick Gaughan. These versions conveyed the anger at the Hateful spite of the privileged classes toward the less fortunate.
