Why Jungle Loco’s Gwala Mnandi is The Top Album on Audiocus!
Jungle Loco’s 2022 offering Gwala Mnandi has been sitting undisturbed on the Audiocus platform as the most played album. This is consistent on the front and the back end, the session time the Masvingo born hip-hop emcee has in our analytics data is testament to the fact that lyricism still has replay value.

Polymath Actor, Recording Artist, and Filmmaker Amir Royale Releases His ‘Stories of the Lost, Rich & Tormented’ EP
From Amir Royale Sophomore year, NYU Tisch’s Clive Davis Institute, 2017. I created the concept of Stories of the Lost, Rich & Tormented as a "Writing the Hit Song: Deep Cutz" homework assignment. Over the course of 14 weeks, I crafted and reworked about 12 or so ideas. Suddenly, my songwriting professor at the time (Eren Cannata of Cove City Sound Studios, Facethouse Records & Warner Chapel Music), directed us to use all the content we created thus far to formulate an EP. This project would then become one we’d pitch and present to potential A&R scouts. It was our final project. I curated 5 of my best records across the class to showcase a conceptual narrative and description of greed, lust, and youth insecurity within American culture. It is the final entry within my four-EP-long music chronicle (dating back to my 2015 EP, This Is for You.). To let this project go free finally—feels like a blessing. Thank you.

Family - A Strange Band But One Of Leicester’s Finest
Introduction My first exposure to Family was seeing them perform “In My Own Time” on Top of the Pops and was struck by the absolutely manic look and voice of their lead singer Roger Chapman. Their sound isn’t straight rock or progressive though the songs have reasonably standard formats with elements of folk and dissonance in there.

The 10 Kraut-Rock Albums of 2022
“Kraut-Rock” or kosmiche musik was the name used to refer to the underground scene in Germany in the late 60s and early 70s. As a genre nevertheless, it has been kept alive by some bands that are heavily influenced by this sound. Here’s our totally objective, but undeniably indisputable list of the best krautrock albums of 2022:

Soused by Scott Walker + Sunn O)))
Introduction Scott Walker was the definition of a true artist. He was a huge influence on David Bowie and many others with an amazing voice as you can hear on the Walker Brothers records but it was when he left the band and Scott Engel / Walker started treading musical paths that very few have trodden.

Cosmic Rough Riders - Enjoy The Melodic Sunshine
This intro is taken from Wikipedia and you can read the full article below: This is a collection of songs featuring tracks from the band's first two self-financed albums as well as three new tracks. The album was put together by Alan McGee's Poptones label as a starting point for mainstream listeners. The album spawned four singles including the UK top 40 hits "Revolution (In the Summertime?)" and "The Pain Inside". Although never reaching the UK Top 50, the album spent 17 weeks in the top 200 in 2001, peaking at No. 82. Steady sales meant that by the end of 2001, the album had achieved silver status (sales of 60,000) in the UK and it was named by Q magazine as one of the 50 best albums of the year. It would go on to achieve sales of over 100,000.

REVIEW: BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN - ONLY THE STRONG SURVIVE
Usually when a renowned singer-songwriter releases a 'covers' album at a late point in the their career, it can go one of two ways. Some, such as Willie Nelson and Bob Dylan, are able to to put a unique spin on them with their own finely honed interpretive skills. Others, such as Rod Stewart's notoriously bland takes on the Great American Songbook and 1970s' MOR ballads, show an artist who's run out of ideas and the effort amounts to little more than glorified karaoke. Bruce Springsteen, the New Jersey heartland rocker whose most recent original album came out just two years ago, is the latest artist to tackle such a task with his album of soul covers, Only the Strong Survive.

Ranking Every Song From "Harry's House" Based On Written Quality
I have been a fan of Harry Styles for almost a decade now. From his One Direction days through to his first solo album and now onto his third album. His self-titled first album showed songwriting promise. As part of One Direction, he had been part of songwriting in some of the latter albums, but it was never part of the intention behind the group.

Brynja Debuts New Album "Repeat"
Brynja closed out the month of October with her debut album, "Repeat." The thirteen-track album is chock-full of diverse sounds and topics. Brynja showcases her soothing, euphonious singing and her melodic, Lauryn Hill-esque rapping. "Repeat" encapsulates the various genres to a tee: Alternative, Hip-Hop/Rap, Indie, Pop, R&B/Soul, etc. The album has been in the works for four years, and as they say, can't rush greatness. "Repeat" is evident of that as the album is immaculate from the beginning to the end.
