Songs about October

By Rasma RaistersPublished 3 months ago 3 min read

“Sekret October” is a song by the English pop/rock band Duran Duran. It was written for and released as the B-side to their ninth single, “Union of the Snake.”

"October's Song" is a song recorded by the American heavy metal band Skid Row. It is a poignant and reflective song that delves into themes of change, loss, and the passage of time. The lyrics paint a vivid picture of the shifting seasons and the emotions associated with these changes. The song opens with a plea to a maternal figure, asking her to step into the light and embrace the evolving seasons. This can be interpreted as a metaphor for the inevitability of change in life, much like the changing of seasons.

“August October” is a song that was written by the English singer and songwriter Robin Gibb. It is featured on his album Robin’s Reign. The song was released as a single in 1970 and later this song was covered by the English singer and songwriter Sir Elton John.

“October" is the seventh and title track from the Irish rock band U2’s 1983 album, titled October. It was included as a hidden track on The Best of 1980–1990 compilation. The song is the only track from the October album included in the compilation.

"When October Goes" is a ballad based on lyrics Johnny Mercer had written but did not complete. It was matched up to a melody by Barry Manilow and released in 1984. The song charted on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart.

“October Road” is a song that was recorded by the American singer and songwriter James Taylor. It is featured on his album of the same name. The album was certified Platinum by the RIAA. The album has two versions: a single-disc version and a "limited edition" two-disc version, which contains three extra songs, as well as a video presentation.

“Summer Soft” is a poignant song sung by American singer and songwriter Stevie Wonder. It is featured on his 1976 album Songs in the Key of Life. This track encapsulates the essence of love and the transient nature of emotions, using the metaphor of changing seasons to convey its message.

“Moondance” is a song recorded by the Northern Irish singer and songwriter Van Morrison. It is featured on his 1970 album of the same name. The album contains songs incorporating rhythm and blues with rock music.

“All This Time” is a song that was recorded by the English rock musician Sting. It is featured on his 1991 album, The Soul Cages. The song charted on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped the Billboard Album Rock Tracks and Modern Rock Tracks charts.

“Peaceful Waters” sings about autumn and was recorded by the Canadian singer and songwriter Gordon Lightfoot.

“Leningrad” is a song that was written and recorded by the American singer and songwriter Billy Joel. It is featured on his 1989 album Storm Front. The song title is derived from the contemporary name of St. Petersburg, Russia. Billy Joel wrote the song about a Russian clown named Viktor Razinov, whom he met while touring the Soviet Union in 1987. Throughout the song, major items of Viktor's and Billy's lives are compared to show the cultural differences and similarities of the United States and the Soviet Union.

“Last Chance Train” is a song that was recorded by the American rock band Bon Jovi. It is featured on his 2004 album 100,000,000 Bon Jovi Fans Can’t Be Wrong. "October leaves are falling, so am I / A harvest moon is calling me and I know why / The traffic's like a symphony in blue."
