Self-Pity
How Much Are You Willing To Carry?

Chorus
Getting lost in Self-Pity,
Living with the scars,
Of another’s pain-
It ain’t pretty…
And you can’t tell a soul,
Cause they’ll always see things,
different-ly,
Making you question,
When they start asking their questions…
Like-
You know-
Somebody’s going through something worst than you, right?
You can’t really believe-
The only one who’s been hurt is you, right?
My nigga—
Pain is just life,
And everybody knows,
Happiness comes at a price,
So get out your Self-Pity...
Versus One
Well—
I was sent away,
By a mother,
who didn’t want me-
And didn’t want to raise,
And I am not ashamed to say,
It filled my heart with rage,
Throughout the years,
I’d grow to resent her,
In every way…
I can’t understand—
How she couldn’t love the child,
She birthed-
And held in her hands…
Like—
What did I do to deserve this?
But-
What hurts the most is—
When her health was declining,
Who uprooted their life,
To be there beside em?…
And For what?
For her to sit,
And watch her daughter,
Cut my wrists,
Forcing my son to stop me,
When I no longer wanted to exist,
Slowly realizing,
My pain and self-hate became his…
Now, through all of my shit,
I’m left watching him…
Chorus
Getting lost in Self-Pity,
Living with the scars,
Of another’s pain-
It ain’t pretty…
And you can’t tell a soul,
Cause they’ll always see things,
different-ly,
Making you question,
When they start asking their questions…
Like, you know—
Somebody’s going through something worst than you, right?
You can’t really believe-
The only one who’s been hurt is you, right?
My nigga—
Pain is just life,
And everybody knows,
Happiness comes at a price,
So get out your Self-Pity...
Verse Two
Hear me out—
I done seen things,
The average person never will,
I’m still battling the demons,
From the night my best friend got killed…
Reliving the enemy-
Circling back,
Reliving being helpless-
While watching him gasp,
His last breath,
It hurts…
As I sit on my cousins bed,
With-
Tears of pain in my eyes,
I hope there’s more for you beyond death,
And I’m fulfilling—
My purpose in life…
So when-
The darkness creeps up,
Keeping me awake at night,
I know—
I got another Angel,
And a guiding light,
For life…
Chorus
Getting lost in Self-Pity,
Living with the scars,
Of another’s pain-
It ain’t pretty…
And you can’t tell a soul,
Cause they’ll always see things,
different-ly,
Making you question,
When they start asking their questions…
Like-
You know-
Somebody’s going through something worst than you, right?
You can’t really believe-
The only one who’s been hurt is you, right?
My nigga—
Pain is just life,
And everybody knows,
Happiness comes at a price,
So get out your Self-Pity...
Verse Three
Listen—
I’ve been battling—
Silently spiraling—
Into the darkest depths of—
Depression—
Anxiety—
Lack of autonomy—
Misinterpreted honesty—
Lack of respect—
Of partnership—
Of acknowledgement—
Searching for a sense of—
Appreciation—
Craving the validation—
So—
Even when mistreated—
Let it be ignored—
Put you—
On a pedestal—
No one deserves more—
Not even I—
Me—
The one who—
Doesn’t deserve peace—
Must now focus—
On he—
To—
Finally heal—
Staring at the clouds—
Finally—
Able to feel—
What it’s like…
Bridge
To no longer drown,
In self pity,
No longer-
Wearing the scars,
Of another’s pain,
Cause it might kill me…
Can no longer question,
Life’s every changing direction,
Like,
Am I—
Really deserving,
Of happiness in life?…
Am I—
To believe,
It all happened,
At the right time?…
Or am I—
To accept,
Forgive—
Forget…
Cause—
Pain is just life,
Happiness—
Comes at a price—
Even if you gotta try trice,
It’ll be worth it—
It was,
Never meant to be easy—
Believe me,
It’s coming—
Now,
Get out your Self-Pity…
