Sajjad Nahavandi’s interview

I was always interested to find talents in other cultures. I mean they are introducing their culture mostly!

One of my friends introduced Sajjad Nahavandi to me around 1 year ago and he mentioned his music aren’t in English but Persian! Well i said I would give it a try and I didn’t regret!

For those who don’t know him, Sajjad Nahavandi is a Persian Pop-Rock singer.

According to his Instagram (@Theofficialsajjad) he is living in London.

He was born on First of July 1996 so he is about 24 years old.

This article is about introducing him. If you listen to some of his songs you will realise he got that talent. I just wished he sing in English too but i read some of his translated lyrics in English it was heavy to understand but i did really enjoyed! So meaningful so deep! Some of those was about love some about life.

So this reason made me to send him a direct message on his Instagram and asked him for an interview! And he accepted it!

This is Sajjad Nahavandi interview:

Who has impacted you most in your career and how?

Sajjad Nahavandi: I really love Lana Del Rey, I adore her. Her music her voice and her personality. I wish i could meet her one day. I think the first song that i heard of her was Summertime sadness! What a song! After this song I listen to many of her song and i just fell in love with her.

So after that i heared her Ultraviolence album and until now it’s my number one album in my favorite album list! This album impacted and inspired mostly. It’s theme, it’s atmosphere and the lyrics. I just wanted to have my own version of this album as my music career that day.

Describe a recent unpopular decision you made?

Sajjad Nahavandi: well i decided to reduce the time that i spend on social media especially on Instagram. That wasn’t a popular decisions these days but i need to spend more time on my real life but I have to mention Instagram is my main platform that i interactive with my fans and i love it.

Have you done this kind of work before?

Sajjad Nahavandi: Yes, i began Singing and writing lyrics and music when i was around 16 i guess. At the first i was enjoying to write poems and lyrics. I did tried to write them to be meaningful. I just wanted my lyrics tell their own message.

I don’t have any music that the lyrics doesn’t be mine! All songs that i have o wrote their lyrics!

What are your long-term goals or career plans?

Sajjad Nahavandi: Well my long term goals is that one they i could have my first concert! I really want to feel that atmosphere one they on the stage!

And second one maybe is to have concert tour around the world haha!

My the main goal that make is the key for them is to switch my music language from Persian to English and also a team who can support me to set up an English music band!

How will you cope with being away from home for long periods?

Sajjad Nabavandi:

Actually i used to live like that. I was born in Iran and I’m 24 years old but at least i was around 7 or 8 years that i lived there.

I lived 3 years in Armenia, 3 years. in Denmark, 3 years in China, 4 years in Finland and now it has been 3 years that I’m living in United Kingdom and from those countries i went to see other countries which were the neighbours or far away. So my life spent In traveling and discovering the world. To meeting people around the world and learning their culture. On my right hand i have a world map tattoo and a adventure text because of it. And now to be somewhere more than 4 years make me sick! I need to see new places new things that what my early life made me like! I like it but it’s difficult to travel a lot because job study and life you know what i mean! Because of that I really love to have concert tour around the world! Music and seeing new people and places, that’s what i want!

Who would you most like to collaborate with?

Sajjad Nahavandi: Lana Del Rey of course is my number one, Mohsen Chavoshi ( Iranian Artist), Archive band, Radiohead band, SYML, Nessa Barret, Tamino, gosh they are getting to many haha many good artists in the world.

What is one message you would give to your fans?

Sajjad Nahavandi: Love you!

What is the most useless talent you have?

I can make bird sound with my mouth haha actually not every useless, i used to make this sound more when i was a teenager when i was at school in a classroom. Every time our teacher asked us who the hell brought a bird in the class. Haha i have very good memories from my school days!

Do you sing in the shower? What songs?

Sajjad Nahavandi: Oh of course, that is my practice spot haha! I usually write some verses in the shower in my mind and that will lead me to an idea. Then i will sing them to find a melody for it and boom that how I usually get inspired to write a song!

Thank you so much for you time Sajjad and thank you for accepting my request for a mini interview! Looking forward to hearing your new album! I wish you good luck.

Sajjad Nahavandi: Any time! Thanks for your request it was fun to talk with you.
