Reason First: Spotify Hit With Lawsuit Claiming Billions Of Drake's Streams Came From Bots
Should Daniel Ek Really Care?

In the past decade, Spotify has been embroiled in scandals related to the numbers. Multi-million-dollar suits have flown like birds in the night. The latest news has Drake at the center of a controversy where claimants have stated that he has had multiple bots inflate his numbers.
Is this true? It matters but this is just another hit against the once dominant hitmaker. A rapper named RBX has been designated as the plaintiff to cast a negative light on Drizzy for himself and others.
The idea that Drake could have illegally adjusted data has always been a point of contention throughout the Canadian artist’s career. Half in awe, half in suspicion, individuals have been skeptical about his ability to achieve billions of streams on the music giant’s system.
The “streamshare” model that Spotify uses allows for users to reap digital rewards based on their efforts. The suit alleges that Champagne Papi has used bots to build his sonic empire. This supposed action created a disadvantage for those who functioned on the lower levels of the streaming service.
For Drake to be in the middle of this situation only knocks off more trust in the rapper’s stock. The man who once said “Last name ever, first name greatest” has moved like LeBron James.

There’s a discussion of who is the GOAT like how Jay-Z is the greatest as Michael Jordan is to the National Basketball Association. The sensibility of Drake as a LeBron figure is becoming ever more apparent. He can state he is the most excellent all he wants but the stats now seem to be in serious peril. The danger is that he might not have earned his billions of streams.
Like LeBron who has failed in the finals previously, Drake is losing to Kendrick Lamar in the culture and more important in the streaming wars.
In the age of lawsuits in rap, this is a serious blow against Drake. He will have to recover from this detriment to his career and life.
To bounce back from all this would be a signal that Drake can get back into the game. He’s got millions of dollars, but the question is whether this latest suit will bankrupt the singer/rapper.
If he is careful, he will navigate through the suit with legal firepower. The way through all of this is to be consistent and remember why he became successful in the first place.
He was the goofy kid from Degrassi who put the world at a revolutionary pace with a challenging mixtape. For Drake to continue to be the most important artist in a generation if not the greatest, he at least ought to make his case for standing up against the travails of the monetary conniption fit in which he finds himself.
As far as Spotify is concerned, the music juggernaut may view this as a minor spat with coloreds trying to hash out their differences. They will show themselves as ladies and gentlemen if they just allow the information to be aired.
The intelligence of the C-suite should show when it comes to low-level plaintiffs and super high profile acts like Drake. They should demonstrate how important it is to cover themselves. By being factual and honest, they ought to be able to see their company advance. CEO Daniel Ek should know his company is still going to press through despite this legal disagreement.

Ek should be focused on continuing to earn billions of dollars off of a few millionaires. His thoughts should all be concerned with his bank account swelling without Drake potentially remaining related to his company.
