Reason First: Jay-Z Named 25th Best Songwriter Of The Century By ‘Billboard’
The Brooklyn MC earns another place in a coveted list.

“Y'all hail me as the greatest writer of the 21st century”
Jiggaman has done it again. Billboard Magazine has knighted Jay-Z as the twenty-fifth greatest writer of the young millennium.
Central to the formation of hip hop through eras, Iceberg Slim has become the quintessential artist to emerge from Marcy Houses in Brooklyn, New York United State of America.
His flows, metaphors, similes, entendres, and other literary devices propelled him to land at the top of the charts on numerous occasions, writing along the sides of Rihanna and his wife Beyoncé.
Over the course of twenty-five years, Jay has remained consistent if not always the ideal artist on the charts. He, still, has managed to rack up multiple awards and honors celebrating his spectacular success.

“It be the man that write checks with the hand that don't write.”
When it comes to writing, it’s ironic because Shawn Corey Carter constantly reminds his audience that he hasn’t written down lyrics in over three decades.
His powers on the microphone have landed him this latest honor. His slang, flow, and ability to control crowds have all emboldened him to press forward as a business man.
For someone to say he’s not a rapper, it appears that he has described even more irony as he has written primarily raps for himself and others.
The reality is that Jigga has earned his place among the great writers of this generation. For his sense of knowing how to flip words and make them come alive, Billboard bestowed Jay-Z with something he deserves.
By creating a whole catalogue of songs that charted over these twenty plus years, Hova extends his reign as the greatest MC of all time.
Young’s greatest works have been with the aforementioned Rihanna and Beyoncé as well as Alicia Keys. His role as a hitmaker has been solidified with the output he has made over the years.
Instead of hating just to hate, people ought to clap for him. Because he has put in time as a leader in hip hop, he has more than proven his position as the top rhyme spitter in the world.
Though he could have been caught up in a lawsuit that would have derailed his career and reputation, Jay fortunately fought with facts and demonstrated how innocent he is.
To take his writing ability seriously is to say that the pen he never uses has always been strong. Few of his contemporaries can claim to be as confident, competent, and compelling in their words.
In a world of mumble rappers and questionable “lyricism” Jay has always offered to the world the skills. Never would he come incorrect in these past few decades.
He always knew that writing was where the money was.

As one of the only rappers to talk about publishing and masters, Jiggaman has set a precedent for advancing the genre. When an artist writes, those residuals are much larger than if they are just performed. When he gets into the booth and does his “Rain Man” routine and delivers fiery bars, he represents something truly special.
No matter the subject matter, whether he is talking about the club or his relationship with his late father, he is always on point.
This is the secret to his financial freedom. He has channeled his artistry into economic liberty. The writer who doesn’t write has snagged this honor with aplomb.
By presenting to the charts his mind, he has extended a laurel to himself on his head over his Yankee fitted. The way to be a proper rapper shows him as the best to ever do it. Even if he doesn’t use a pen and pad or a smartphone.

Guess he was blessed with the gift of gab and he has used it well. Being well out of that generation, we still have to give credit where credit is due. May have failed before and after him. So, great write up of someone who deserves respect.
