Never Too Far Away

Hey There, Lonely

By Kelli Sheckler-AmsdenPublished 10 months ago 3 min read

VERSE ONE

Hey there lonely, what's up stranger? You ain't been sniffin' round here, lately

Tell me, baby, what will take to, get you to look the other way

What I’ve been feeling, it can’t be real and I need you to save my heart from dreaming

Cause you’ve been away so long I was afraid my heart just might start believing

That love could stay

*CHORUS*

Cause I've been feeling those nerves tingling

Like love was slowly creeping up on me. Though it’s been so long and I could be wrong, you’ve never let me feel that way

I can’t remember when I last let love in, it’s always been just you and me

My body’s aching, anticipating, hoping this time, you’ll let it be

VERSE TWO

There was a time when, I needed you then

And love, you never let me down

You stayed there with me, my best friend lonely, when we were wearing matching frowns

I depended on you, loves favorite fool but you convinced me to hide my tears

And I believed you, no one could be true, so I built these walls made of my fears

**BRIDGE**

Look at this me that love created, celebrating what will be

Look at this heart, love’s celebrating the loveliest, deepest parts of me

VERSE THREE

The tides have turned, I’ve finally learned there will be days I’ll call your name

But love has taught that you’re all consuming and we just can’t carry on that way

There’s room for feeling and time for healing this time I know I’m worthy of

The chills and tingling and life with meaning that comes from being covered in love

Please, let it be.

This song is in honor of every soul who has felt the depths and troubled embrace of loneliness and isolation. But through perseverance and determination, discovered that we are more than worthy of being loved for who we are.

My hope is to encourage others to look deep inside themselves and shed the pain and stigma that roots itself into making them believe that lie. The one that tells us we will never be enough.

Knowing the importance of acknowledging the past so we are able to let go of the pain, allowing that part of our past and hearts to heal.

Life is meant to be lived to the fullest, and we were designed for love and to be loved.

Remembering that we should never accept anything less than, from anyone, especially ourselves.

And when we let go of the things the world lays on us, we will come to experience the best love of our lives.

Only when we’ve mastered self love, will we find that the sky is the limit.

Once we have felt the endless and unconditional love that comes from loving who we are, accepting the love from another will fill the void we never knew existed

Incredibly beautiful set of song lyrics & message. Do you have a tune to go with them?

It's a nice song and a lovely sentiment. While everything you say is true, putting these swords into action is not so easy. I often look back at my life and wonder where it went and how I got to this point. Nice work, Kelli!
