Las Vegas based modern blues-rocker Freemoor is an artist on the rise. He’s been slugging it out in the clubs and music venues throughout the world for more than a decade. With the release of his latest single “Affliction”, he levels up his game with a soulful rock song that reaches deep inside as an homage to people who have fallen prey to an addiction at far to young an age.

The bluesy underpinnings don’t take away from the rock edge of “Affliction" – they enhance it. The track captures the raw essence of wrestling with your demons and serves as an acknowledgement and a plea for empathy. Freemoor skillfully melds true emotion with exhilarating artistry: the feelings emoted by the song linger long after the last note.

Affliction” was produced by Adrian Andres, known for his work with Cirque du Soleil and Maeve, at Mouse Trap Studios in Toronto, Canada. The ostentatious guitars and dynamic, passionate vocals are reminiscent of legends like Lenny Kravitz and Paul Rodgers of Bad Company, with a nod to modern blues troubadour Gary Clark Jr. Yet, Freemoor’s style is unmistakably his own — it pays homage to its past blues-rock forebears while forging his own unique musical identity.

Affliction” demonstrates why storytelling is so important to music that stands the test of time. Painting a realistic image of affliction and resilience, Freemoor uses lyrics like “when your story’s told, it seems they could not get it right” to put a spotlight on how our culture often misunderstands the struggles of addiction. The verses reference the turmoil faced by icons like Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, and more recently Amy Winehouse - as well as those everyday people in our society grappling with the malignant spirits inside. The ear-worm chorus speaks to the disquiet within these misunderstood souls, while driving home the song’s poignant depth:

But they'll be stories told

Ya

It's a chill

To follow her affliction

It's a thrill

To lay it on the line

On your knees

On your knees”

Freemoor’s voice is filled with insistence while remaining soulful - carries these words with an authenticity that is refreshing in today’s “write-and-and-produce-a-song-by-committee” that can often sound void of any true emotion. The imagery portrayed by the lyrics helps us to slow down for a minute and realize how fragile our existence can be.

Affliction” is more than a song—it’s an anthem that pays tribute to those unfortunate souls who graced us with their presence and shined brightly – only to have their intense spark snuffed out all too early. It’s a journey through pain, and hopefully understanding and most importantly, hope. If Freemoor continues with quality songs like “Affliction”, his future looks bright indeed.

An artist with an eclectic, soulful vibe, Freemoor is a talented bassist and drummer who was literally born into the music business. As the son of a working mother who was a drummer and talented singer, he spent much of his childhood and adolescence traveling to different cities and states – absorbing the various musical experiences along the way. His mother encouraged his interest in many styles and genres – which helped develop his own eclectic, soulful vibe. His influences range from Prince, Queen and Seal to David Bowie, Lenny Kravitz and Chris Cornell. His music is a nod to the past while being thoroughly modern. He combines a powerful, soulful vibe with an edgy rock sound – it’s a mix of Bad Company meets Lenny Kravitz, with a dose of Gary Clark Jr.

He leads you through a thoughtful journey of emotion while giving the listener an electric charge. He encourages people to be their best authentic selves: Follow your own path and be comfortable with yourself, no matter who you are, is the message shines through in his music. His motto is “Free To Do More”, and he strives to emulate that in everything he does.

Freemoor has previously released several singles including Shine (2024); Jump N (2020); Confess (2019); Alive (2019) and a cover of the Cream classic Sunshine Of Your Love. He is finishing up a debut album that will be released later this year.
