Meet Gifted Hands.

A Voice You Won’t Forget.

By Cathy (Christine Acheini) Ben-Ameh.Published 6 months ago 3 min read

There are moments when someone’s voice stops you mid-scroll. Not just because of the sound, but because of the story behind it. A voice that doesn’t beg for attention, but commands it. Not with noise, but with truth.

This is how I met Gifted Hands.

His real name is Immanuel Mitchell. He was born without hands. Doctors said he would never walk, never feed himself, never live a full life. They were wrong.

Immanuel writes his own lyrics. He records. He performs. He encourages. He creates.

And he does all this with no hands at all.

But that’s not even the most powerful thing about him. The most powerful thing is his spirit. The way he writes from the valley and the mountain at the same time. The way he speaks the language of pain, but never without hope. The way he reflects what God said in Isaiah 43:19

"Behold, I am doing a new thing. Now it springs forth; do you not perceive it?"

Immanuel didn’t just survive. He started something.

⭐⭐⭐

Why His Music Matters.

Gifted Hands doesn’t rap to impress. He raps to lift burdens. To reach the boy in his room who thinks he’s not enough. To reach the woman who thinks it’s too late. To remind the listener that they are not forgotten.

His music is clean. It is honest. It is real. You can feel the fight in it. You can feel the light too.

This isn’t a man performing a testimony. This is a man living one.

⭐⭐⭐

The Song That Shook Me: “Why Not Start”.

If you listen to one song, let it be this one.

It begins with questions that most of us are too scared to ask out loud.

"Why not try again

Why not right now

Why not believe that God still has something left"

It is the sound of someone waking up in the dark and lighting a match.

It is the sound of Romans 8:11 in motion.

“And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies.”

This song is breath. It is motion. It is faith for the tired.

You don’t need to be religious to feel it. You just need to be human.

⭐⭐⭐

A Quiet Invitation.

Gifted Hands is not here to sell you something. He is here to remind you of something. That purpose does not require perfection. That broken things still carry sound. That faith still speaks through the ones who weren’t supposed to make it.

Maybe you’ve never heard his name before.

Maybe you’ve never listened to Christian rap in your life.

But listen once. And you may never forget it.

In a world that often expects perfection, Gifted Hands stands as a living example that brokenness does not disqualify us and purpose is not reserved for the flawless. His music is more than just songs; it is a testimony of a life marked by faith, struggle, and hope. Through his voice, we hear the reality that the same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead is alive and moving within us, encouraging us to keep going, to try again, and to believe in God’s ongoing work in our lives.

Whether you have never listened to Christian rap or you are simply searching for something real, Gifted Hands meets you where you are. His story and his songs invite us to take the next step forward no matter how small with courage and trust. Sometimes faith is not about having all the answers or making grand declarations; it is about the quiet strength to keep moving even in the dark. Gifted Hands reminds us that no matter our past or our pain, God still has something left to give and there is always a reason to start again.

It is the sound of someone waking up and lighting a match. Wow. I found this piece quite humbling. It’s easy to get caught up in the things that (don’t?!) matter - and he’s right, why not try again.
