At times it is nice to listen to songs that bring back memories of the people we love. Here are some songs that will bake your memories shine.
"Memories" is a 1968 song originally recorded by Elvis Presley. The song was written by Billy Strange and Mac Davis. It was written for Elvis to perform on his comeback TV special. The song is features on the album Elvis, the soundtrack album for the NBC TV special.
"In My Life" is a song that was recorded by the English rock band The Beatles. It is featured on their 1965 album Rubber Soul and credited to Lennon-Mccartney. According to Lennon the song was his "first real major piece of work" because it was the first time he wrote about his own life. Rolling Stone magazine lists it at number 23 on their 2004 list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.
"The Way We Were" is a song that was recorded by American singer and actress Barbra Streisand. It is featured on her album of the same name and was released as the lead single. The song was written by Alan Bergman, Marilyn Bergman, and Marvin Hamlisch. The lyrics of the song detail the relationship betwee the two main characters of the 1973 movie of the same name starring Robert Redford and Barbara Streisand. The song was at number one on the Billboard Year End Hot 100 singles list and certifies Platinum by the RIAA.
"Summer of '69" is a song recorded by the Canadian singer Bryan Adams. It is featured on his album Reckless. The song was written by Adams and Jim Vallance and released in 1985. In the UK the song was acclaimed as one of Adams' best. It also charted on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
"(You Want to) Make a Memory" is a song that was recorded by the American rock band Bon Jovi. It was released as a single from the 2007 album Lost Highway. The song was written by Jon Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora and Desmond Child. This was the last single by Bon Jovi to break the Top 40 on the Hot 100. There are two versions to this song on a pop version and one a country version.
"Your Wildest Dreams" is a 1986 single that was recorded by the progressive rock band The Moody Blues. It was written by Justin Hayward. The song was first released as a single, and later released on The Moody Blues' 1986 album The Other Side of Life. The song became the band's second-biggest US hit. It went to number one on the Adult Contemporary chart and aslo charted on the Mainstream Rock chart.
"Photograph" is a song that was recorded by English rock musician Ringo Starr. It was released as the lead single from his 1973 album Ringo. Starr co-wrote the song along with his former Beatles band member George Harrison. It became an international hit and recieved gold disc certification for US sales of 1 million.
"Those Were the Days" is a song composed by Boris Fomin (1900–1948) but credited to Gene Raskin, who put a new English lyric to Fomin's Russian romance song "Dorogoi dlinnoyu", with words by the poet Konstantin Podrevsky. The song is a reminiscence of youth and romantic idealism. It also deals with tavern activities, which include drinking, singing, and dancing. The song was recorded by the Welsh singer Mary Hopking as her debut single in 1968. It is featured on her 1969 album Postcard. The song went to number one in the UK and Canada and charted on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
"Times of Your Life" is a popular song and advertising jingle made famous in the 1970s by the Canadian singer Paul Anka. It is featured on his 1975 album of the same name. The song was written by Roger Nichols and Bill Lane. Kodak created an advertising campaign in 1975 that featured Anka singing a jingle entitled "Times of Your Life". Paul Anka chose to record it as a single and it became a hit in the US charting on the Billboard Hot 100 chart as well as the Billboard Easy Listening chart. In 2021, the song was featured in a commercial for Downy. In 2022, it was used in the seventh episode of the Apple TV+ series Severance.
"Our Last Song Together" is a 1973 song recorded by American singer Neil Sedaka. It is featured on his album The Tra-La Days Are Over.
