Here’s To Me

A look into the future of music.

Quite recently, I came across an ad for an AI song generator. Curiously, I downloaded the ad and asked it to create a song based on my life. I was asked to choose my song’s genre and preference of either male or female vocals. I am currently in my country girl, plaid shirt with cowgirl boots era so of course I went down that rabbit hole.

The song created for my life had male vocals similar to that of Zack Bryan and it was sad. Regardless, I was completely blown away. I had my fun and asked myself honestly “when would I ever need this again?” The honest answer then was never so I deleted the app. Low and behold a month later, this challenge was posted.

I love my Vocal platform because it’s far from stressful. It’s freeing. This time it allowed me to get creative and I enjoyed every minute of it. So in spirit of all the honky tonks out there, I channeled my inner Kelsea Ballerini. She gives off the vibe of country pop and also being that I recently attended her concert in Toronto, it only seemed fit that I pen this little number. I downloaded that AI song generating app once more and this time I selected the option to use my own lyrics. Now I don’t know if to be scared or absolutely blown away by the power of AI as the only input I have here are the lyrics.

I have included the direct link via the app as well as a homemade video of the song I updated to Youtube just in case the link to Donna restricted who was able to listen. My lyrics are also included below if you get interested enough to sing along.

I’ll end here with this, are we about to reach the point where anyone will be able to release a hit song just by clicking a few buttons? Is Donna in all it’s transitonal states capable enough to rival the music industry?

I guess I will let you all be the judge.

Enjoy.

Here’s To Me

Intro

I was a dreamer,

Poetic ballerina,

Trying to burst out of this age defying arena.

I use to spill my heart out,

On blank pages white as doubt,

Hoping the people I loved would hear my whispering shouts.

But now, now I just stand tall.

Carved my own name into that wall.

If someone’s going to hear,

I am happy that’s it’s me.

Chorus

So here’s to me as I walk my line.

Strumming this guitar that’s busted but all mine.

Here’s to all the dog gone years,

And here’s to a few years more.

Here’s to the boys who left me behind,

That’s all good I’m doing fine.

Cuz when that sun sets on another day,

Just know this girl’s gonna be okay.

I use to sit around and wait for life to find me.

But now I know, life’s got too many outstretched hands wishing to be made free.

I use to cry.

I use to beg,

For the love I never did get.

But now I’ve finally found a way to put it all behind me.

If I fall, just gotta get back up.

Fix my makeup and walk away with grace.

Yes now I finally found the me I ought to be.

Chorus

So here’s to me as I walk my line.

Strumming this guitar that’s busted but all mine.

Here’s to all the dog gone years.

And here’s to a few years more.

Here’s to the boys who left me behind.

That’s all good I’m doing fine.

Cuz when that sun sets on another day,

Just know this girl’s gonna be okay.

So if you feel you understand me.

You can relate to all the bad things.

If you feel right now like there’s just,

No way out.

Just know that I have felt it too.

So if I can push on through,

Then know that so can you.

If not, just get whisky drunk and sing along right now.

Bridge

Here’s to us as we walk our line.

Strumming our guitars we paid for with every dime.

Here’s to all the dog gone years.

And here’s to a few years more.

Here’s to the boys who left us behind.

That’s all good we’re doing fine.

Cuz when that sun sets on another day,

Just know these girls are gonna be okay

Ohhhhh okay

Here we go again.

Chorus

Here’s to me as I walk my line,

Strumming this guitar that’s busted but all mine.

Here’s to all the dog gone years,

And here’s to a few years more.

Here’s to the boys who left me behind,

That’s all good I’m doing fine.

Cuz when that sun sets on another day,

Just know this girl’s gonna be okay.

Outro

Here’s to me as I walk my line,

Strumming this guitar that’s busted but all mine.

Here’s to all the dog gone years,

And here’s to a few years more.

Here’s to the boys who left me behind,

That’s all good I’m doing fine.

‘Cuz when that sun sets on another day,

Just know this girl’s gonna be okay.
