Your name, 'Inno Combs,' carries a lot of history and evolution. How does it reflect who you are today as an artist and as a person?

Inno Combs is all about innovation. My name started as "Innocent Combs," but people naturally began calling me "Inno Combs," and it stuck. It reflects my drive to create something fresh and versatile.

I never want to be put in a box. My music spans genres like AfroBeat, EDM, R&B, hip-hop, and rap because I believe true artistry comes from exploring it all. Inno Combs is about breaking barriers and constantly evolving.

Growing up in Brooklyn and then moving to Florida, how did these two vastly different environments shape your perspective and your sound?

Growing up in Brooklyn and then moving to Florida gave me the best of both worlds. New York taught me how to craft punchlines and build a larger vocabulary to deliver bars that make people think. Florida, on the other hand, brought out the fun, dance, and turn-up energy of the South.

Together, they shaped my sound into something unique - lyrically sharp yet packed with energy that makes people move. It's the perfect mix of thought-provoking and entertaining.

From freestyle battles to perfecting your lyrics late at night, what was the turning point when you realized music wasn't just a passion but your life's purpose?

The turning point for me was realizing that even if I became a millionaire with all the money, fame, and riches in the world, I'd still have an unshakable desire to perform, write songs, shoot videos, and tour. Music isn't just a passion - it's what makes me feel alive. Creating and being on stage is where I truly find my purpose.

Your journey includes overcoming immense challenges, like battling cancer, a stroke, and hearing loss. How did these experiences transform not only your music but your outlook on life?

Overcoming those challenges completely transformed me and my music. I fell into deep depression, stepped away from music, worked a 9–5, and even struggled with thoughts of ending my life. But no matter how much I tried to stay away, people would recognize me, remember my shows, or ask about my music - and it kept pulling me back in.
