Honey Bxby Is Done Playing Nice — Raw Honey Is Her Most Honest Work Yet
I’ve been rooting for Honey Bxby since day one. Literally. I met her three years ago when she was still figuring things out, before the press runs and the cosigns. She was grinding through small Jersey venues, just her voice and raw energy making instant believers out of people. She had that thing, even then. Now with Raw Honey, I feel like we’re seeing her fully come into her own — unfiltered, layered, and deeply intentional.
Her 2023 project 3 Words, 8 Letters was a strong introduction, but I’ll be real — I always felt like it only hinted at her full range. The pen was there, the melodies were catchy, but I knew she had more to say. Now, with just 10 songs and a remix, Raw Honey delivers the version of Honey Bxby I always saw beneath the surface: the vulnerable best friend, the ride-or-die, the daydreamer, the heartbreak survivor, the woman who knows she deserves more.
She’s not just writing records — she’s confessing. This is diary music. Every track reads like a late-night FaceTime call with your homegirl, where you vent, cry, laugh, and then get cute to go out again. And that’s her magic. Honey Bxby is relatable in a way that makes you feel like she’s been reading your texts — and replying with vocals.
Let’s get into the album:
1. Intro — 7/10
The EP opens with a phone call — one of those late-night “you up?” situations where he’s talking lust and she’s on a different wave entirely. “These demons inside my head, I learned that monsters ain’t under my bed.” That line hit. It’s poetic, haunting, and sets the tone for a project that’s about internal battles and external facades. My only critique? I needed more. This wasn’t just an intro , it had the bones of a full track, and I wanted it to stretch out and live longer.
2. Broken Mirrors — 8/10
This is where Honey starts peeling back the layers. She’s looking in the mirror, not just at her reflection but at the wreckage of past love. “Broken Mirrors” is about self-awareness, about the parts of us that hurt others while trying to heal ourselves. The vocal arrangement here is strong — it’s sung, not just performed. And you can feel her owning her flaws.
3. These Days (feat. WESLEYFRANKLIN) — 7/10
The pain of pretending you don’t know someone you once loved is real, and Honey captures that energy here. “These Days” is reflective, soft, and full of unsaid things. WESLEYFRANKLIN adds texture without overpowering the vibe. I’ve said this before , Honey knows how to cast her features like a director, not just as a co-sign but to serve the story.
4. Left Eye — 10/10
This was the lead single and for good reason. It’s explosive, confident, and captures Honey in her full element. “Left Eye” is layered with double meaning — referencing the TLC legend while also representing the fiery side of Honey’s identity. This was my summer anthem, and every time it plays, I feel like I’m riding shotgun with a crazy ass friend telling me how she about to ruin some man life. It’s big energy, executed perfectly.
5. Tricks For You (feat. Coi Leray) — 8/10
This one feels like a sleepover record — like you and your bestie are in the mirror, talking trash and feeling yourselves. The flip of Da Brat and Tyrese’s “Whatchu Like” is nostalgic without being corny. Coi and Honey together is a natural fit — two Jersey girls talking spicy, unapologetically. This is the type of track that fans will champion as a deep cut long after the hype dies down.
6. 3AM — 10/10
This is probably one of Honey’s strongest vocal performances to date. She didn’t need a beat for this one to slap. It’s soft, sensual, and filled with quiet longing. You can almost see her laying in bed, checking the clock, waiting on a love that may or may not pull up. It’s haunting but beautiful. “3AM” is where Honey’s restraint becomes her power.

7. Fall in Line — 10/10
She’s in her “ride or die but don’t play with me” bag on this one. The kind of love that borders on obsession — we’ve all been there. The melody wraps around you, and by the time she says “I’m yours,” you believe her. But you also know she’s only going to say it once. This is a record that speaks to the boys — because Honey Bxby is every man’s dream wrapped in a warning.
8. Think I Might — 10/10
Already a fan-favorite, this track is Honey in her confident stride. It’s catchy, playful, and proof that she knows exactly what her listeners need. There’s a reason this made playlists — it’s sticky and smooth at the same time.
9. Right On Time — 10/10
This is the one. My personal favorite. It gave me Alanis Morissette meets SZA energy — vulnerable and out-of-pocket in the best way. The vocal phrasing, the emotion in her delivery, the lyrics? All A1. This is Honey Bxby breaking the formula and proving she’s more than just a vibe — she’s a voice.
10. Laying In His Bed — 10/10
This one’s going to piss off a lot of men, and that’s why I love it. Sampling Diddy and Keyshia Cole’s “Last Night,” Honey flips the script — she’s with one man while emotionally wrapped up in another. It’s raw, messy, and brutally honest. It’s the kind of record that’ll get a million TikTok think-pieces, but if you really listen, it’s not about disrespect — it’s about emotional duality. Women feel this way. They just don’t usually say it on wax. Honey did.
Final Breakdown:
Beats: 10/10 — The production is intentional and textured. No wasted space.
Lyrics: 9/10 — Conversational, poetic, and brutally honest. Honey Bxby is more of Vocalist than Lyricist.
Concepts: 10/10 — Every track has a theme, and the EP as a whole tells a story.
Rollout: 10/10 — Bxby has done all forms of media in preparation of this release
Replay Value: 10/10 — Every song gives you a reason to run it back.
Total EP Score: 9.5/10
Honey Bxby isn’t just a singer , she’s a storyteller with a sharp pen and an even sharper sense of self. Raw Honey isn’t about chasing trends or trying to fit into the industry mold. It’s about baring your soul without asking for permission. Her ability to toggle between soft vulnerability and fierce confidence shows that she’s not boxed in by genre or emotion. Whether she’s flipping a classic sample or crooning at 3AM, her delivery always feels intentional, real, and rooted in lived experience. This project proves that Honey Bxby understands who she is, and more importantly, who she’s becoming — an artist with something to say and the voice to say it loud.
As someone who’s followed her from the start, Raw Honey feels like a milestone moment — a coming-of-age EP that finally matches the potential I saw in her back when she was rocking Jersey stages. She’s not hiding behind production or catchy hooks; she’s stepping forward with a clearer artistic identity and a refined sound that puts emotion at the forefront. This is the project that elevates Honey Bxby from promising newcomer to serious force in R&B. And if this is just the warm-up, the main course is going to be something legendary.
