EXCLUSIVE: Ludacris Not Playing MAGA’s “Rock The Country” Concert
Ludacris will not perform at the Rock The Country concert, his manager confirmed with AllHipHop.

UPDATE: Ludacris is going to be blowing down the gas, allegedly, while performers like Kid Rock will. The decision came from his manager Chaka Zulu. Either it was a misprint or some kind change of mind, the reality is that the ultra-right wing gatherings will not see Mr. Christopher “Ludacris” Bridges.
It will take time to sort out the business behind the way that Luda had once been associated with the festival, but one thing is clear ‘Cris is not about that life. Respect to him for making the decision based on principle. If he had maintained his position on that stage to get a bag, he would’ve done so while sacrificing his morals. If he had played and been part of it, it still would have been honorable as long as he didn’t align himself with ideas that opposed his own thoughts.
From the time he backed out of being one of the acts at the “RTC” he might be joined by Nelly…or not. Ludacris is making money with Endurance warranty and has a catalog of songs and acting credits. He’s not hurting for money. He can cancel shows that probably wouldn’t have benefitted his virtues and values. He knows that they are more important than any dollar amount.
His abilities on the mic and camera give all the reason for him to step away from putting his talents on stage overwhelmingly occupied by MAGA affiliates. So, for him to make the choice to become a stranger to the concert, he’s standing on business. He can get a bag in any arena across the country and the world, too. His whole mindset would be damaged or destroyed had he continued to go against what he thought was right.

It’s also a boon that he has a manager like Zulu who has been with Luda for decades. This truth is apparent when one accounts for the falling out tendencies that often happen with artists and managers. Chaka Zulu is a strong man of color who agreed with Ludacris to not hop on stage and coon it up.
He could’ve just laid out and let the concert makers walk all over him. Zulu made it certain that Ludacris would not participate in any monkeyshines.
Because he’s not getting the bag, he could look forward to generating funds from his own Disturbing tha Peace imprint. What is so compelling is the idea of the “Slap” rapper’s morality leading his decisions to create a better world for himself.
Instead of being a “yassaboss” Negro, Ludacris ensured that he would take down that image and not engage in activities that might compromise his soul.
This all comes on the heels of the artist list that in fact included Ludacris’ name. Zulu pointed out the fallacious nature of his artist’s name emblazoned on the bill.
Everything Luda has built may’ve come crumbling down in his lap. He could’ve been challenged with multiple boos, slurs, and thrown beer bottles causing him to rush off the stage.

It is fitting that Luda focuses on getting the money but not at the extent of losing what makes himself true. The power of the mic is so overwhelming that it brings together the strands of freedom of speech and expression.
Luda has explicit content at the core of his lyricism. This might have been swept away but the reality is that he would’ve had to edit his words like N—.
Perhaps because he has been a decorated veteran with GRAMMYS® in tow, he knew what would happen if he were to stunt and front for a crowd that may not even know him. Nelly, it's your move, now.
