My Yuletide Picks of 2017
Each year, I deliberately count the days as they gradually morph into weeks and months of seasonal changes. I watch with great anticipation as the calendar eventually progresses towards the beginnings of the holiday season. Like clockwork, new Christmas albums miraculously appear annually. I readily look forward to adding something novel to my holiday music collection, which has gradually, but incessantly, increased per annum. This December is no exception with the following titles earning a permanent place within my musical library.

The 'List: "Saturday Night Fever" 40th Anniversary
Hello one and all. As a child of only five years living in Brooklyn NY, I remember living next to a professional club disc jockey who had a killer sound system and whose collection was pretty vast with all types of music genres; salsa, merengue and pop being the main choices. But, around December of 1977, I distinctly remember being at his house as he unwrapped the latest album he was supposed to sample. The soundtrack to the new John Travolta movie, Saturday Night Fever. The film about young teenage ruffian Tony Manero, played by Travolta, who worked at a Brooklyn, NY, paint store by day; but danced like his life depended on it at a local discotheque on Saturday nights.

10 Lesser Know Winter/Christmas Songs
I freaking love Christmas carols. I can hardly restrain myself from singing them til November 1st and after December 25th. I like to think of myself as a bit of a Christmas music hipster, as I'm always on the hunt for new songs. So here are some Christmas/Winter songs I think are obscure if you still want that winter vibe, but get tired of the overplayed songs.

7 Worst Songs of 2017. Top Story - December 2017.
As 2017 quickly draws to a close, its time to toughen up and dissect the best and the worst of what the musical world had to offer these past 12 months. While the majority of people seemed to detest 2016 as a whole, the music we were gifted wasn't actually as bad as one would think. However some of the worst trends to saturate popular music in 2016 have only seemed to worsen, growing larger and more inescapable every year. It just seems that recently pop music has lost its "pop," leading to more and more mediocre instrumentals and lyrical themes to spread like generic wildfire. It is with this in mind where we shall begin to take a look at some of the worst songs to come out in 2017, however we shall first set some ground rules. First off, as with any musical or cultural commentary, this list is entirely subjective. I have my own theories and ideas as to what makes music "objectively" bad (as if there were such a thing), and these biases can be greater understood by reading some of the other works I've done on popular music. Second, this list won't be exploring the worst deep cut off of the album that your cousin's German neighbor put together using a 4-year old version of FL Studio in his basement, rather this list will be focusing on songs that are either by well known and successful bands or artists, or songs that were simply successful themselves. With this in mind, let us begin this list with:

Mix Up Your Christmas Music!
I don't know about you, but I love Christmas music. When it hits December, the Santa hat comes on. The cookie mixes come out. The eggnog has landed. Unfortunately, like all songs you play on repeat until you don't like them anymore, they get old. Don't get me wrong, I love me some Christmas time Michael Buble. It's just... we've all heard almost every version of Jingle Bells,Baby, It's Cold, or Feliz Navidad. So it's time to mix it up! Mixing up the usual tunes can be an adventure. You never know what you'll find. Pop? Punk? Indie? I've been on this adventure a few times and want to share what I've found with you. There's always something new. Perhaps this will even help you along the way in your own search!

The 'List: Christmas, Volume 1
Hello, one and all. So, December 25 is upon us again and you know what that means. Eggnog, ugly sweaters, huge pine trees lit with assorted lights that will juice up your electric bill. All the presents you bought on Black Friday have already been taken to customer service because you've had second thoughts. Another go-round with watching A Charlie Brown Christmas, Home Alone, It's a Wonderful Life, A Christmas Carol and my personal favorite, always, A Christmas Story with young Ralphie being warned that his eye will get shot out by that BB gun he so desperately wants.

The Songs From 'The Letter' Are Pretty Damn Good!
I'm not gonna lie: this game has broken my heart, disturbed my sleep and emotionally wrecked me. At the same time, it made me fall in love with their characters and make me feel like part of the Luxbourne gang. I've started playing the game last month, and since then, I've already written several pieces of fanfiction and a few articles about the game already. I briefly mentioned in a review that I loved the music in the game. A lot of video game music always struck a chord with me because it's made specifically for that game; it's more personal and easy to relate to.
