Getting Your Music Heard
When I first started as an independent artist I was not sure how I was going to get my music out to the world. Then came CD Baby. CD Baby is an independent platform for the indie artist. They get your music on every platform for possible sales and exposure. If you have not heard about them I strongly suggest that you check them out. They do charge an upfront fee for albums/EPs and singles but it is just a one time payment. It is worth it because of everything that you get from that one price.

Rock 'n' Roll in Soho!
Rock 'n' roll started in Soho. Well actually, no it didn't, but it found Soho and made its home there. Rock 'n' roll actually started in the United States in the 50s, but it made its way over to England through mainly the radio (see Radio Caroline) and the records were traded, bought, sold, and stolen in the docks up and down the country. (For instance the docks up in Liverpool were great places to get the latest American records as found out the members of a skiffle band later to become a pop band called The Beatles, but more on them later.) However it made it there, it did, and found a welcome home in Soho. This marriage of rock 'n' roll and the seedy wondrous streets and venues gave birth to British rock 'n' roll and changed the face of music forever.

Let's Talk About K-Pop
We live in a world filled with a thousand different music genres, so much, that sometimes we hear some song we like and we don’t find the specific place to categorize it. Like the rivers, music genres are intercepted and converted to some place, where it gets stuck and at one moment, by different factors, the cycle begins again.

Just as a preface to the article, I'd like to say this may not be applicable to every type of music producer. I'll be offering tips based on what I have learned personally and hope they will help as many people as possible. This also only serves as some tips I personally know, not a complete or exhaustive cheat sheet. This guide also assumes you already own a DAW.

Taking Back Control of Your Royalties
There was a time not too long ago when Musicians and songwriters were able to make a decent living from their craft. If you had a Performance Rights Organization (PRO) working on your behalf, you were in a good place. Agencies like BMI, ASCAP, and SESAC collected royalties on behalf of the artists and songwriters. Radio and TV stations logged what was played and who wrote it all and then PROs sent out quarterly payments. Often these could add up to quite a bit.

The Art of Networking
Hello my fellow artists. Today we are going to be discussing the importance of networking. The term simply means in this case, making connections with other artists or industry professionals. One of the reasons artists want to do this is to expand their professional reach and find individuals who can elevate you. Why is elevation important? Because you want to be able to go higher and higher with your career and do more along the way. You want to be able to set high goals and achieve them. These goals are made easier if you branch out and meet people who can help you.
