Citilimitz Talks New Dual Singles, Tour Life, and R&B Evolution
"The Most" and "If They Only Knew" Arrive Fresh Off ‘It’s Complicated’ U.S. Tour with Trevor Jackson

Citilimitz is an R&B trio making waves with their unique blend of soulful harmonies and fresh, Gen-Z R&B sounds. With their new singles, "The Most" and "If They Only Knew", dropping on January 31, we sat down with the trio — twins Marion and A.T. and their cousin Dre — to talk about their latest release, their experiences on the It’s Complicated U.S. tour, and how they’re reshaping the R&B game for the next generation.
Vocal Media: Hey guys! Congrats on the new singles, "The Most" and "If They Only Knew". Can you tell us a little bit about what fans can expect from these tracks?
Citilimitz (Marion): Thank you so much! Both of these tracks are super special to us. "The Most" has this upbeat, feel-good vibe, but it's also about going all in for someone and showing them you’re committed to giving your best. It’s a song about love and loyalty. "If They Only Knew" is a little more vulnerable. It's about feeling like you’re misunderstood and wanting someone to see the real you, even if it’s not always easy to show. We wanted to give a balance between the upbeat energy and the emotional side of love.
Vocal Media: Your music is known for blending classic soul with modern R&B. How did your collaboration with Troy Taylor, a Grammy-winning producer, influence the sound of these songs?
Citilimitz (A.T.): Working with Troy Taylor was an unreal experience. He has such an amazing ear for music. He really helped us blend those old-school vibes with the new energy we want to bring to R&B. His direction on both tracks really allowed us to push ourselves vocally and creatively. He definitely challenged us to go deeper with the harmonies and production.
Vocal Media: You guys just wrapped up your It’s Complicated tour with Trevor Jackson. What was that experience like? How did the live performances shape the way you approached these new tracks?
Citilimitz (Dre): The tour was insane. Performing in front of so many people every night really made us realize the impact of our music. It gave us this whole new confidence. We were able to test out the songs live, and "The Most" was definitely a crowd favorite! It was such a vibe seeing people sing along. It also taught us how to connect with our audience more authentically. That energy from the crowd really shows up in these new songs — they have a lot of that "tour energy" we were vibing off of.
Vocal Media: Let’s talk about your roots for a second. You guys are from Chattanooga, Tennessee. How does your hometown influence your sound?
Citilimitz (A.T.): Hometown is everything for us. Growing up, we had a preacher grandfather who was always playing gospel music, so those harmonies are embedded in us. Our dad would also play a lot of classic soul — the Temptations, Earth, Wind & Fire — and we took a lot of that energy into what we do. Chattanooga has a unique sound that blends southern soul with contemporary R&B, and we try to carry that vibe in our music.
Vocal Media: You’ve been getting a lot of buzz lately. How do you stay grounded as your success grows?
Citilimitz (Dre): It’s definitely a balancing act, but we try to stay humble and keep our focus. We have a solid team that’s always reminding us to stay true to who we are and remember where we come from. At the end of the day, it’s about the music and the fans. We know that the hype is cool, but what really matters is connecting with people through our songs.
Vocal Media: What’s next for Citilimitz in 2025? Any hints on the upcoming debut EP?
Citilimitz (Marion): Yes! We’re super excited about the EP coming later this year. It’s going to be a true reflection of where we are right now as artists. We’ve got some dope collaborations in the works, and we’re continuing to experiment with sounds. Expect more of the same mix of classic soul, R&B, and that youthful energy we bring. We’re just getting started!
Vocal Media: One last thing — if you could describe your music in one sentence, what would it be?
Citilimitz (A.T.): Our music is the soundtrack to love, struggle, and triumph — it’s all about real emotions, real vibes, and giving everything you’ve got.
