Director: Eli Roth
Featuring: Rider Strong as Paul, Joey Kearn as Jeff, James DeBelloe as Bert, Jordan Ladd as Karen and Cerina Vincent as Marcy. with cameo from Eli Roth as Justin/Grimm
Ok so i am not a big fan of Horror so i was a little hesitant to re watch this i was sixteen or so when i first watched this film and my crush on Rider has never left me, and seeing this film now at thirty two i still have a crush on rider haha, anyway lets get into the review.
DIRECTION:
The direction of the film was brilliant the way it was set up and every frame of the film down to the details and layouts of the scenes was perfect. Eli did a great job bringing his vision to life directing this film it was fantastic.
For its genre it is perfect , and it has every aspect that you would expect from a horror movie.
Rating For Direction: 5/5
PLOT/SCRIPT:
The plot for the film was insane. It has you hooked from the moment you see the (spoiler) dog in the woods. If you have watched the film you know what I am talking about, just not going to spoil it for others who want to watch it.
The plot friends groupwise was kind of an early 00's teen movie usually set up with 3 guys and 2 girls, one kinda typical couple and another guy trying his hardest to get the girl he's liked since early high school and the just the fifth guy being a douche guy who just drinks.
The plot line in general was incredibly well done and the writers made sure the script matched the characters perfectly, the whole production was perfect.
Rating: 5/5
CASTING:
the casting was perfect, even with a cameo from the actual director Eli Roth himself and lets just say seeing Rider Strong (boy meets world) while still be a softy and a sweetheart also towards the end became an absolute legend because he was just in the end sick of everyone and everything that happened in and around the cabin was a far cry from his BMW character, Rider was my favorite character to be honest.
the other cast was perfectly cast to, i was unfamiliar with the other four actors, but the way they looked the casting suited them perfectly, and the way they played the characters in there own way was perfect to, do i have a least favorite character yes it was Jeff only because the actor played a good roll at being a Pompous Jackass Jock who thinks he's invincible until his ultimate demise which as a viewer was actually satisfying sorry to say just shows the actor played the role perfectly.
Rating: 5/5
OVERALL:
Overall I loved this film. It wasn't too gruesome and wasn't too serious. It was an overall fantastic film in my opinion, and I really loved watching it as a viewer even though as i say i am not a fan of horror, seriously I would suggest going and watching it.
Rating: 5/5
i know this was a short but sweet review but Thanks For Reading this is a review of Cabin Fever the original film that came out in 2002 not the remake of 2016 although very similar some aspects of the film was changed.
I will be working my way through a few more films soon and will upload a review for most of them after i have watched them, i am determined to watch a lot more movies than i have recently, so stay tuned guys.
