Songs are listed as they appear in the playlist. Some may be explicit. Songs with a '☆' are ones I think belong on every Halloween mixtape!

Starting off strong, we have "Hypnotize" by Notorious B.I.G. - Truthfully, if I entered a party with this song blasting, I wouldn't leave. It grabs your attention, and the beat eases into the vibes a party is supposed to have. Plus, hypnotism is a scary thing... Explicit.

☆ "Maneater" by Nelly Furtado - Keeps up the energy of the previous song, now with a more prominent beat and Halloween energy. It's the kind of song that makes you feel powerful.

"Six Feet Under" by The Weeknd - Another song with some dark undertones of a powerful lady, like "Maneater." A lot of The Weeknd's Starboy album fits an adult Halloween party. Explicit.

"bad guy" by Billie Eilish - Again, more dark undertones. Low beat to match the low voice Billie uses.

"Hayloft" by Mother Mother - Brings the energy back up again while still telling a frightening story of a couple being caught by a sinister father while together in the hay on a farm. Appropriate for fall and for Halloween.

☆ "Disturbia" by Rihanna - Oldie but a goodie. This one is usually on a Halloween playlist. Rihanna is disturbed and frightened. Energy is between "bad guy" and "Hayloft."

"Maniac" by Michael Sembello - Faster pace than Disturbia and a throwback that older individuals at the party will appreciate. Who doesn't want to see a maniac get down on the dancefloor?

"Devil Woman" by Cliff Richard - A classic. There will definitely be some devils at your party, right? This is the kind of song where your party guests can actually hear each other.

"Space Ghost Coast To Coast" by Glass Animals - Low, funky beat like "bad guy." This song is about an old friend-turned-enemy who is in jail for his crimes.

"Down Bad" by Dreamville (JID, Bas, J. Cole, EARTHGANG, Young Nudy) - An attention-grabbing song. Each beat would be a cut to a crime scene in a horror film, followed by a screaming damsel in distress. Explicit.

☆ "Monster" by EXO - A k-pop fan-favorite. Creepy monster beat, a little like "Down Bad."

"Wont Bite" by Doja Cat feat. Smino - Fun song fitting for a werewolf. Explicit.

☆ "E.T." by Katy Perry feat. Kanye West - Obviously a necessity for a Halloween party. I promise you, everyone will go nuts when this comes on.

"Tag, You're It" by Melanie Martinez - Melanie talks about being kidnapped in this single. The lyrics alone will give you shivers. This song belongs in the Scream series.

"Midnight City" by M83 - Alien type-beat like E.T. (of course). Another classic among millenials and gen Z. Strong beat to rock out to.

"Every Breath You Take" by The Police - Definitely a slow romantic song, if you're playing it at a dance. As beautiful a melody as it has, watching someone is creepy, so I'm declaring it Halloween-y.

"Devil's Advocate" by The Neighbourhood - We've got a devil woman so far, now we just need an advocate for her. Picks up the beat gradually post-Police. Alt-pop.

☆ "My Type" by Saint Motel - Very fitting for a zombie. 'You're just my type, you've got a pulse and you're breathing' - clearly it belongs to the undead, cause they'll eat anything with a pulse. Also, very upbeat and fun.

"Hungry Heart" by Bruce Springsteen - More zombie music. It fits so well with them, that's why its on the Warm Bodies soundtrack (a must-see movie, by the way). Older individuals at your party will appreciate you playing this one.

"Halo" by The Pass - Any party goers dressed as angels? How about ones who are already an angel, through and through? This song is a love letter to them .

☆ "(Don't Fear) The Reaper" by Blue Oyster Cult - If there are angels, zombies, and devils at your party, chances are there is a reaper there too. Or maybe he's being sneaky about going - after all, if you see one, the sense of dread might make you want to end that party. He wouldn't want you to be afraid of him, however.

"Handshake" by Two Door Cinema Club - A robotic beat as well as lyrics involving the devil. Low pitched like "(Don't Fear) The Reaper," so they will flow into one another.

"Supermassive Black Hole" by Muse - A vampiric song (can you guess what movie series?) that picks up the pitch and the beat from "Handshake."

"LUCIFER" by SHINee - A k-pop classic. A song for the devil and his demons with a thrilling vibe.

☆ "Just Another Day" by Oingo Boingo - This is the kind of song that would play in a Halloween movie after people keep mysteriously going missing and weird stuff keeps happening. Especially if its set in a quiet ghost town already. There's life underground...murder in the air...the sky was crimson red...and everyone was dead.

"Houdini" by Foster The People - Just as upbeat as that Oingo Boingo song, "Houdini" tells us fear can make you compromise.

☆ "What's A Girl To Do?" by Bat For Lashes - One of my favorites, especially because of the beat - more specifically the organ playing. This is the song for vampires, witches, and ghoul-y girls.

"Killing Me Softly With His Song" by Fugees and Ms. Lauryn Hill - A favorite that keeps up the slow pace of "What's A Girl To Do?" It's got killing in the title. It fits, right?

"Stayin Alive" by Bee Gees - Gotta keep the party alive. That's all I got.

☆ "Who Can It Be Now?" by Men At Work - For the unexpected visitor to your spooky night. Or one-too-many smacks from the tree branch on your window outside.

"Wires" by The Neighbourhood - Somber, creepy, autumnal. For when your party becomes a black and white film.

"After Dark" by Mr. Kitty - Just as somber as the last track, but very romantic. Like a letter from a ghost to a living lover.

"Rhinestone Eyes" by Gorillaz - Picks up the beat a little from "After Dark." Also pretty autumnal. Robotic beat.

☆ "Somebody's Watching Me" by Rockwell - A Halloween must-have at your party. Add. It. In!

☆ "Superstition" by Stevie Wonder - Get down to this one.

☆ "Werewolves of London" by Warren Zeven - And this one. You get it.

"Open Your Heart" by Madonna - More zombie vibes. Open your heart and let Madonna take a bite.

"Invisible Touch" by Genesis - There probably is an invisible man or woman somewhere at your party. Let them get down too.

"Heads Will Roll" by Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Alice in Wonderland kind of song. Strong beat like "Invisible Touch."

☆ "Highway to Hell" by ACDC - Great classic rock song. At this point in your party, your guests might be on this highway.

"Hot Blooded" by Foreigner - Keeps up the rock-n-roll vibes. You know who wants to check it and see? Vampires.

☆ "Monster Mash" by Bobby 'Boris' Pickett and The Crypt-Kickers - I'm not justifying this one.

☆ "Ghostbusters" by Ray Parker Jr. - If you don't have this on your playlist, well... there's no excuse. Add it. Everyone goes bonkers for this track.
