
Born on February 27, 1981 Joshua Winslow Groban is an American singer, songwriter, and actor. His first four solo albums were certifies multiplatinum and in 2007 he was charted as the number one best selling artist in the US.
At the age of 17, Groban was introduced to Grammy-winning producer and arranger David Foster, who recognized his incredible vocal ability. This encounter marked the beginning of his successful music career.
Then in 2001 Groban's career took off when he performed "You're Still You" on the TV series "Ally McBeal" after the performance everyone wanted to know who he was and was interested in hearing him sing.
In 2016 Groban made his Broadway debut in the musical "Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812". In 2022 he portrayed the Beast in the TV special "Beauty and the Beast". In 2023 Groban returned to Broadway to play the title character in the revival of "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street".
Josh Groban came out with his debut album Josh Groban in 2001. The track "Your Still You" charted on the Billboard Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks chart and went to number one.
In 2003 Groban came out with his second album Closer. Half of the songs on the album were sung in English and the others in Italian, Spanish, and Frence. It became the top selling classical album of the 200s. Among the most popular tracks was "You Raise Me Up" which charted on the Billboard Hot 100 and went to number one on the Adult Contemporary chart.
Awake was released in 2006. The RIAA certified the album 2xplatinum. The first single was "You Are Loved (Don't Give Up)". This album was also performed in English, Italian, and Spanish. The single charted on the Hot Adult Contemporary chart.
In 2010 Illuminations was released and contain songs in various languages with Groban's first attempt on a Portuguese song "Você Existe Em Mim", which he co-wrote with Lester Mendez and Carlinhos Brown. The first single from the album was "Hidden Away".
In May 2011 Groban went on a worldwide tour entitled the Straight to You Tour to promote the album.
In 2013 he came out with All That Echoes and the album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart. The album included the song "I Believe (When I Fall in Love It Will Be Forever)".
In 2015 Groban released his seventh album Stages. The album consisted of songs from Broadway musicals.
Bridges came out in 2018. It was his first album since All That Echoes to include orginal music and he co-wrote nince of the twelve tracks of the album. Among the songs was his version of the Simon and Garfunkel classic "Bridge Over Troubled Water".
Harmony his ninth album was released in 2020. This album includes a song recorded by Elvis Presley which became his biggest hit back in 1960. Groban recorded his version of "It's Now or Never".

You've got a great overview of Josh Groban's career here. His music has been all over the place, from those early hits to his Broadway shows. I remember being hooked on "You Raise Me Up."
