A$AP Rocky Appears To Diss Drake On Three Separate Tracks Off "Don't Be Dumb"

A$AP Rocky just dropped "Don't Be Dumb," and as expected, there are some big-time Drake disses all over this project.

A$AP Rocky has thrown subtle jabs at rapper Drake. What’s new? The lines seem to hit hard and condemn the Canadian rhyme maker’s position as an “opp.” Like in most feuds, they start with a friendship. Rocky just has the temerity to talk on his album and see that he can be potent with the pen. Though no name-drops appear, it is clear that Rocky is speaking to someone whom he used to be cool with in the game.

The Rihanna connection is the most damning aspect of the entire equation. He says he “stole” the pop superstar and businesswoman from Drake in the long run. While never mentions Drizzy, the idea of him being a target is not a stretch at all.

Rocky has positioned himself to be a formidable presence, especially after his acquittal from charges that could have landed him in prison for over two decades. His MC powers overshadow any legal issues he may have had. The shots at Drake notwithstanding, he delivers on the promise of an artist that doesn’t have to prove anything.

When he dropped his latest songlist, he suggested that he would be showcasing a side of him that is at once menacing and welcoming. With his collaborations with Winona Ryder and Tim Burton, it seems like he aspires to more than just a spat with the hit maker from the north.

But that is going to be addressed probably in the coming months. 2026 seems like the return of Champagne Papi with ICEMAN. He most likely is not prepared to launch lyrical missiles at Rocky. With a project that appears to be done, his timing with the new project is going to come too late for a response.

All of this is based on a strong offering on Don’t be Dumb. It covers the Drake debacle in uncertain terms but if you listen closely and analyze the lyrics, it should be clear to see his intentions.

The rock influenced songlist brings together the elements of punk and electronic music as well as hardcore hip hop. Pretty Flacko is just another example of what it means to be a shining star who can ride off the win in court and come back even stronger than ever.

Drake might have the money, but his respect has diminished since his rivalry with Kendrick Lamar which also led to the dissolution of friendships with the likes of Rick Ross. What Rocky has been able to do is show that he can be just as abrasive and assertive as possible. His powers extend into the realm of rap’s most innovative performers. So, for him to come to Drake, that just means he is trying to become a better artist. He’s comfy. He’s got the girl, the kids, and the money. He may not have Drake’s money, but he can always go to Rihanna on some pimp style action.

What Rocky does best is give himself enough time and space to be the leading rapper in terms of creativity and evocative verses. This is his superpower. Just when the listener thinks they’ve heard everything, the thought of Rocky going from gruff rapper to smooth crooner has always done this since “Peso.”

His flows remain tight and the ideas behind the songs don’t seem boring or uninteresting. He keeps the party going even when it winds down and becomes a slow dance. His way of being the vibe on a track demonstrates his skills.

The multiple styles of West Coast, Down South, Midwest, and of course New York bring to the light the various tools that Rocky has in his toolbelt. He can be aggressive and overbearing or smooth and cool. Drake has been known to do this as well but to not the extent that Rocky has perfected.
