Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is one of the most legendary entertainers on earth because he essentially left one industry that tried to cancel him to become even stronger in the film industry specializing in mini-series cable networks such as Starz “Power” and ABC “For Life.” 50 Cent is the executive producer and owner of both shows. He’s also acted in quite a few films that were national sensations. But let’s not forget that he is the original mixtape King of NYC, one of the only rap artists to go diamond twice off worldwide sales on back-to-back albums, become a record label owner in the process, clothing line owner, health beverage brand owner, and he the King of all online trolls simultaneously. 50 Cent also owns a champagne brand called Le Chemin du Roi (King’s Path) and Branson liquor. Prepare to relive greatness that some have forgotten and scroll through his journey of struggle, fame, and beautiful foolishness.

The One That Him Mixtape King of NYC

The “guess who’s back” mixtape is the album that got 50 Cent’s name poppin in the underground rap circles of NYC. The whole album is a classic but none of the songs reached the popularity of “How to Rob” a song where he explicitly talks about robbing all of the top rappers and a few R&B artists in the music industry. The song sent shockwaves through the streets even people out of state were listening to the new “gully kid with the skully kid” do his thing. He was on a mission from then on. But on the elevator to success he had a few hindrances that were only temporary like being shot nine times that changed his voice and made it better to getting dropped by his label. Columbia records thought he was more trouble than he was worth. After being dropped he continued to press on and he ended getting into a famous beef with fellow rapper “Ja Rule” who was peaking in his success at the time. Ja Rule and 50 Cent are still not fond of each other until this day. And things would only continue to escalate between the two. 50 Cent is a stonecold hustler and they always end up hitting the jackpot when comes to their goals they call it “Hustler’s Luck.” 50 had a few deals on the table one from Interscope records from Jimmy Iovine and the other from Dr. Dre and Eminem.

The XXL magazine that intells the details of signing to Dr. Dre and Eminem

As many know 50 Cent signed to Eminem and Dr. Dre for $1,000,000 and he flipped that million like a million dollars has never been flipped before. Demonstrating his effortless urban brilliance when it comes to making cash. Coming fresh of the press from a life of crime to becoming a titanic force on the hip-hop scene in the early 2000s. He then dropped “Get Rich or Die Trying” one of the greatest albums ever #67 of the top 100 debut albums from “Rolling Stone Magazine.” But it’s in the top 10 to any true hip-hop scholar because of the impact that the album had on the culture was insane. Most 12 graders as I was at the time were forever changed after listening to the album I internalized “Back Down” and “Heat” because I had beef across the board and none of the people that were my friends at the time wanted the smoke with my enemies. Those songs along with Rocky movies gave me the courage I needed to step up and prevail. I could relate to 50 feeling outnumbered that’s why I connected to his music. The success of the album as far as sales it’s no surprise that it went “Diamond” worldwide and made him an instant icon in the world of hip-hop. And many would feel his wraith the stronger he became. This was only the beginning from the proceeds of the albums sells and advisors he made provisions to branch outside of hip-hop and become a serial entrepreneur.

Vitamin Water

In 2004 after punishing the billboard charts 50 Cent caught wind of an organization called “Glacèau” that made a health beverage and they were looking for a partner that could become a minority stakeholder of their company and they pitched “Vitaminwater” to 50. And being the fitness conscious person that he is he jumped at the opportunity. 50 Cent posed with the product in videos, and he was on billboard print ads across the country. The sales soared to the point that it caught the attention of Coca-Cola’s executive branch. They were looking for a health drink and “Vitaminwater” fit the build perfectly. 50 ended up selling his minority stake in a nondisclosure deal for a large undetermined amount of money. So with that being said 50 Cent could nearly be a billionaire and he could never tell what the deal consisted of or Coca-Cola could pursue legal action and take every dime and asset that he has. 50 Cent talks trash with such confidence because he can afford too. 50 Cent was on top of the world by this time. He destroyed the career of Ja Rule and most of his camp and 50 had become the tyrant of hip-hop. He was punishing rappers at will and then somehow he needed up in a beef with another one of my favorite rappers “Rick Ross.”

50 Cent and Rick Ross

The 50 Cent and Rick Ross’s beef is personally my favorite because it didn’t end with body bags. It was an old school hip-hop battle that got heated but it never got too out of control. No one really knows why it started between them some said it was because of a woman and others say he made porn with Ross’s baby mama but I don’t go where I wouldn’t want people to go on me so I’ll say it was allegedly a fact. I never saw the tape with my own eyes. 50 Cent made a hilarious cartoon called “Officer Ricky” and put it out on YouTube people started sharing it all over social media and that was enough to make even a pastor want to get physical! Rick Ross fired back with one of the best diss songs ever called “Mafia Music” on his classic album “Deeper Than Rap” and 50 Cent fired back with “Rap Cop” a classic diss song released to the underground rap circuit that took aim at more than just Rozay. The battle was epic but no one was officially crowded the winner of their lyrical jousts. 50 rarely speaks on it and neither does Rick Ross. If I had three wishes from the monkey paw I would wish that they would let it go and work together but some things can never happen too much bad blood between the two legends. After a few more albums Jimmy Iovine one of 50 Cent’s partners and owner of Interscope records decided he wanted to change the culture at the label and not support 50’s projects as he had done in the past and passively move to drop him for Diddy’s group “Dirty Money.” But that just primed 50 Cent for his next big leap in the film industry.

50 Cent (Kanan from Power) & Omari Hardwick (Ghost from Power)

50 Cent was doing movies for years by this time even being casted with the likes of Sylvester Stallone. But in 2014 one of the best cable sitcoms to ever hit TV came out that summer called “Power.” Power has become a cult classic I myself have bought a Power hoodie to show support for my favorite show. Omari Hardwick’s character “Ghost” captured the imagination of all walks of life and the ladies cannot get enough of Ghost they find him very attractive. The show did not disappoint every year it got more interesting. Ghost needed up getting murdered by his own misguided son “Tariq” and that set the stage for a gang of spin-offs show to compliment the original. The last of which starred Ghost’s son “Tariq” called “Power Book II: Ghost” and it’s nominated for two awards so far. 50 Cent’s character Kanan who turned Ghost’s son into a fullblown gangster and needed up getting killed by the police has a spin-off coming called “Power Book III: Raising Kanan.” And this is not the only project that he has coming.

50 Cent the Troll God

All other film industry gurus use traditional methods to market their shows to their demographics. 50 Cent savagely abuses people on his social media and we can’t get enough of his antics to market his products and shows. He only picks on other celebrities for the most part but he gets people that are not famous too. And with this unorthodox marketing strategy he makes all of his shows hits and helps to move all of his products right off of his social media platforms successfully. Every attack seems to make him more powerful. My personal favorite is when he stalked singer “Teairra Mari” for $30,000 dragging her brutally for almost a year. Feminists hate 50 Cent with a passion and I’m nearly in tears laughing everytime they clap back at him and go on rants directed at 50 Cent. 50 Cent is clearly the “Troll God” and no one will ever be as passionate about it as him and he knows it. But even on top of that 50 Cent has books “The 50th Law” and “Hustle Harder Hustle Smarter.” Hustle harder hustle smarter is full of strategies he uses to be successful.

Hustle harder hustle smarter is a great book filled with principles of hustle that will benefit you if applied appropriately to your hustle schemes depending on whatever the hustle is. The books most interesting principle to me is “If we can’t be friends then we can be enemies.” Meaning I’m going to benefit off everyone I know that is of value rather they like it or not. I have used that method and benefited from as well. The book also tells the truth of his personal matters that the public doesn’t really know the actual details of. He’s been rather quiet lately when it comes to trolling but it may start again when his new series called “BMF” airs on Starz.

50 Cent’s Newest Project

BMF is an underworld organization that was headed by “Big Meech” and “Southwest T” basically the McDonald brothers of the streets that started in Detroit and spreaded to several states across the country. It’s alleged that the organization grew to be worth approximately $270,000,000 at least making them the largest black drug traffickers in American history. The show features Detroit breed rapper “Kash Doll” and veteran movie stars making the mini-series almost a guaranteed success. But we’ll just have to see if the viewers find the show as good as we all know it can be. BMF is scheduled to release the summer of 2021. So be on the lookout for that.

Though many people hate 50 Cent he is also loved by many also. His genius cannot be denied rather you agree with his methods or not. He is one of the greatest entertainers to ever live and he doesn’t seem to be slowing down any time soon. Hats off to 50 Cent the culture must respect all that he’s done and will do in the future and I personally can’t wait to see the beautiful foolishness that he as has up sleeve next. Because makes you laugh harder than 50 Cent all hail the Troll God!!! Salute!!!
