2019 in Concerts
spent too much money, aching legs and blocked ears

Upon the arrival of 2019, I had only two concerts booked for the year and I was certain that was (devastatingly) going to be the lot. However, on the back end of 2019, I have attended seventeen. Averaging at about £330, without the cost of merchandise at the venues. Yikes.
Despite the hole in my wallet, it's been an incredible year, one that I will never forget. Thus, as we reach the final moments of 2019, I wanted to commemorate my year of gigs, highlighting my favourite five.
5. All Time Low - Slamdunk South, 26th May
This band made up the complexities of my early teens, and to be able to hear their songs live meant the world to me. Although the set was shorter than a usual venue headline show, they played an array of songs across their discography. One of which I was so excited to hear was Time Bomb and it honestly warmed my heart to see them bringing fans up on the stage to dance along with them.
4. Panic! At The Disco - The O2, 29th March

As usual, Brendon and his touring band did an amazing set. It was my first time seeing them live and they did not disappoint. It felt like everything had led up to this one night, after following the band since 2014. I had such a fun time and danced until my legs ached indescribably.
3. The Faim - Electric Ballroom, 13th December
As my final gig of the year, I was sad to have to wait over a month for the next but The Faim did not disappoint and I left feeling hyped up for the next year. The crowd were incredible and alive, and it felt so good to see a room full of people so excited to hear their music and dance along. The support was immense and left me, and the band, in awe of the unity of music.
2. The Wombats - SSE Arena, 1st February

After seeing The Wombats live at Reading 2018, it was a simple decision to see them at their headlining show at the SSE Arena. The stage production was great and the setlist was amazing. The energy levels went through the roof during Let's Dance To Joy Division and I couldn't have had it any other way.
1. I Don't Know How But They Found Me - Electric Ballroom, 22nd August
It's not a surprise to anyone who knows me that IDKHow was my favourite act of the entire year.
Me and my best friend had queued outside the venue from about 2pm and met some lovely people and from that point I knew that this night was going to be hard to forget. Once we got in, we were in the first two rows from the stage and the room was buzzing with excitement. Everything from the energy of the crowd to the band's performance was impeccable. It is with a full heart that I can admit that this show is my favourite concert I have ever been to and I cannot wait to see them again. Bring on the full length album!
It's been an unforgettable year and I cannot wait for what 2020 has in store with nine gigs already booked/planned, including two dates to see Waterparks on their FANDOM tour, The Regrettes, Love Fame Tragedy, Eden and The 1975.
