Kuala Kencana is a town located in the Papua province of Indonesia. It is situated in the Mimika Regency, near the southern coast of Papua. Kuala Kencana is best known for being the hub of operations for PT Freeport Indonesia, a subsidiary of the American mining company Freeport-McMoRan.
