Brown Shoots LA to Win in Opener
The WNBA season kicked off last weekend. Here is a look at some of the action. May 6 Washington 84, Indiana 70 The Washington Mystics started their home opener with a 31-16 first quarter on their way to a 14-point win against Indiana. Elena Delle Donne scored 21 points, yanked down nine boards, dished out three assists and blocked two shots to lead Washington. Delle Donne is in her ninth season and has a career scoring average of 20.2 points in 193 games. Last season she only competed in three contests posting a career low average of 13.7 points per game and has since had the challenge of overcoming back issues. Natasha Cloud supported Delle Donne with 17 points and also led the team with six assists. The 30-year-old guard started every game last season for the first time in her career. Starting in the season opener gave Cloud her 28th straight start after going 149 games between her rookie season in 2015 to 2019 without a start for the Mystics. She didn't play at all during the 2020 season.

TF2K22: Lewis edges Pyles
Morgan Lewis snuck out a close win in the 100-meter hurdles at the Jesse Owens Classic on April 23 in Columbus, Ohio. Lewis and her Ohio State teammate Alexus Pyles finished at 13.23 and 13.24 respectively. The Buckeye duo flipped spots during the prelim round earlier in the afternoon. Pyles qualified for the final at 13.15, while Lewis finshied at 13.31 both times were winded aided at 3.8. In the final their times were wind aided at 2.5.

TF2K22: Cold Days in Knoxville
Last weekend we survived a cold day in Cincinnati, Ohio at the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational. This past weekend it was even colder and wet at times at the Tennessee Relays. Temperatures dropped under 40 on Saturday, while on Friday, it ranged between the low 40s to low 50s. Many athletes gritted their way through the unusual conditions for Knoxville during this time of the year, but there were some that decided to pull out and compete another day. With all that being said, here are some of our favorite moments from the chiller which was known as the Tennessee Relays.

WB2K22: College Update
Angel Reese and Ashley Owusu, leaving Maryland After a run to the Sweet 16, Maryland loses it's two most talented scorers who have chosen to transfer. Forward Angel Reese averaged 17.8 points, 10.6 rebounds and 1.1 blocked shots per game. In the Sweet 16 she scored 25 points, with nine rebounds, three blocks and three steals in a loss to Stanford who eventually qualified for the Final Four. Guard Ashley Owusu averaged 14.3 points this season after posted a clip of 17.9 points per game during the 2020-21 season. She shot a career best 40.6 percent from three, up from 28.9 percent that she shot last season.

WB2K22: WNIT Review
Two Ohio schools faced off in the first round of the WNIT, March 16. Kent State travelled to Youngstown State and used an 18-10 third quarter to overcome a 33-30 halftime deficit. The Golden Flashes won 68-59 as senior forward Lindsey Thall led Kent with 15 points to go along with five rebounds, two blocks and one steal. She shot a perfect 4-4 from the free-throw line, while also shooting 5-9 overall from the field.
