What You Need to Know About Illinois's Weed Legalization (2023)

Under the current law, adults over the age of 21 can purchase and possess up to 30 grams of cannabis flower, 500 milligrams of THC in cannabis-infused products, and five grams of cannabis concentrate. Non-residents of the state are allowed to purchase half of these amounts. It is legal to smoke marijuana in private residences or in cannabis-related businesses that are licensed by the state.
